"Not a complex issue."
F'n DUH.
I agree about the cop, but I to this day do not know why this particular dog was a bad seed - it was never taunted or abused but the kids in our neighborhood, just was plain mean.
This was back in the day when dogs just roamed - no such thing as invisible fences. He could have been from anywhere. I was just pointing out that among the “goldens would never attack” posts, that yes, yes they can and would given the right circumstances.
This particular instance seems a bit...overkill, so to speak?
Who the hell cares? I said I didn’t know ... because I didn’t know. I am not a mailman, don’t know any mailmen, and never cared to research their self-defense methods. Hell, the mailmen in our area never even get out of their little mailman cars.
I’m done with this asinine conversation.
SnakeDoc
But the point is tex...they are *never* available for law enforcement, as we read about these, "Cop shoots family dog" stories weekly...lol
Did you not understand this?
Unpossible. SnakeDoc knows better.

Who are you going to trust? SnakeDoc or your lyin’ eyes...
USPS employees used to face hundreds of thousands of dogs every day. Every year 60,000 dog bites involved letter carriers.
Now that's down to almost nothing.
The owners are trained. The dogs are the same little critters who like to bite ~ which is what we keep them around for. And although the carriers are equipped to repel dogs, they usually don't have to these days.
Even little kids know mail carriers carry mase and pepper spray...
You actually deny knowing this?
No sale tex.
lol...
Or, was he simply making a delivery?
Or was it just a guy in a white pickup with a refrigerated cab driving through ~ something very unusual here Fur Shur.
>>>>Im done with this asinine conversation.<<<<
Nice evasive exit tex.
Diversion and evasion are tools of deceit.
Yup.
Funny thing, that....:)
This ain't no ghetto hood! This looks like it's choc full of top end people with bucks ~ mean as Arkansas wild boars.
The dog knew ~something~ about that person that you didn’t.
Always trust your dog.
It's a very GOOD idea - it alerts homeowners to someone approaching and gives warning to said person approaching (This can save a lots of lives, deterring perps intent on no good . But in this case, being a golden, although the advantage of alerting home occupants, it was probably just greeting him.
Once more: The dog WAS CONTAINED with an electronic fence - which should have registered with the officer. If he couldn't see that cumbersome control collar and/or know what it was, he's too wimpy to be lose in public with a gun.
Kevlar mail pouches?
:)
Here’s the thing SnakeDoc. There are ONLY three possibilities here:
A. You assume cops are right in all situations.
B. You know nothing about Golden Retrievers.
C. A and B are correct.
It was a Golden Retriever. Not exactly known for snacking on random strangers...
After that bit of cutting edge humor, I declare this thread >>dead<<
I looked over the entire neighborhood and I think they have covenants that prohibit fences.
They always kill the dog.
Kinda like a freebie!
Generally speaking, I give police officers the benefit of the doubt in the same way I give American Soldiers the benefit of the doubt.
