Saturday night, December 18, 2010, Jim floated the idea of forming a political action committe to organize an effort to defeat the RINOs in the upcoming 2012 and 2014 Congressional elections.
"Yup, I do believe its time. We need to organize an anti-RINO PAC and get it going in all 57 states to support and elect True God and Country Conservatives. We can do it!! FReeperPAC is born!"

Many FReepers expressed interest in helping with the PAC, posted research/resources, made relevant suggestions, offered advice, etc. It's time to move that effort to its own thread.
Please continue you contributons here. If you posted important information to the other thread, please consider re-posting it here. You will not automatically be added to the FReeper PAC ping list. You must request to be added if you want to receive pings to important updates.

Thanks for the ping. (I’ve been trying to catch up on the other thread - I’m at 1370, LOL.)
I think we need to state guidelines about what the PAC considers conservative and what is considered RINO (or CINO).
That could get contentious (ya think, lol), but we need to clearly hammer it out so the politicians will know exactly what we expect from them and what won’t be tolerated.
Clear statements about:
God, Christianity, and morality and against abortion and the homosexual agenda
Definition of life and the defense of life in the womb, in old age, in comas
Country, the Constitution, small government, States rights, the Bill of Rights and correct interpretation and enforcement
Respect and support for families, individuals, property rights, and liberty
Economy, low taxes, real money instead of fiat money, control or eliminate the Fed, sound monetary policy, fiscal restraint, eliminate the deficit and deficit spending
Defense, support our troops, retain military superiority, ROEs that make sense and don’t handcuff our fighting forces
And more, but you get the idea. I know I joke around a lot, (after all, I do maintain the humor ping list), but I’m very serious about this. We need to boldly and unequivically state our position.
FReegards,

Lindsey Graham is not up for reelection until 2014. We can throw him out later. Lets work on 2012.
When? In 2020 or 2026?
Pls add me to your Ping list too!
2014
You got that right Daxton!
Rove and his ILK (GingRich etc) won't have any access to or influence on this PAC.
Ping me up for FR PAC! Will help in any way I can be of use, although I am generally just a big mouth with little organization experience. I have excellent research skills, however, and I am a big antebellum history buff.
I was thinking the same thing. I’ve been a Treasurer a few times (not of a PAC) and never had a dedicated computer for it. I always used my own and provided backups every month to the other officers of the organization. We had only one licensed copy of the Treasurer’s software, but in an emergency, another officer could install it on their computer install the data from my backups and be up and running in a couple of hours had anything happened to me.

Red Steel to Jim Robinson
"Federal multi-candidate PACs are limited in the amount of money they can contribute to candidate campaigns or other organizations:
at most $5,000 per candidate per election. Elections such as primaries, general elections and special elections are counted separately. at most $15,000 per political party per year. at most $5,000 per PAC per year."
-snip-
However...The FR PAC can spend as much as it wants here:
"Contributions by individuals to federal PACs are limited to $5,000 per year. It is important to note, however, that as a result of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit decision in SpeechNow.org v. FEC, PACs which make only "independent expenditures" (that is, advertisements or other spending that calls for the election or defeat of a federal candidate but which is not coordinated with a federal candidate or political party) are not bound by this contribution limit."

"Super PACs
The 2010 election marks the rise of a new political committee, dubbed "super PACs," and officially known as "independent-expenditure only committees," which can raise unlimited sums from corporations, unions and other groups, as well as wealthy individuals. [6] The super PACs were made possible by two court rulings, including one early this year by the Supreme Court, that lifted many spending and contribution limits. The groups can also mount the kind of direct attacks on candidates that were not allowed in the past. [7] Super PACs are not allowed to coordinate directly with candidates or political parties and must disclose their donors."
And from the SCOTUS Citizen United case:
"Justice Anthony M. Kennedy, writing for the majority in Citizens United, said that independent expenditures, including those made by corporations, do not give rise to corruption or the appearance of corruption. "
Please add me to your ping list.
Thx :)
Speaking of backups. There’s that Internet cloud backup the treasurer could possibly use. The one Rush advertises.
One last thing for the night. Maybe we should look at a few PACs about how they run their operations. An informal case study.
rabs, you know I'd readily second your nomination. But I think we need to work on RINOS up for reelection in 2012 first.
Add me
Like Hatch and Lugar?
I think the anti-Graham campaign needs to begin early because it will take a lot of funds to unseat an incumbent, plus McCain will be supporting the Rat bastard.
Carbonite. Mozy is good, too.
Add me to ping list, please.
...”We need to organize an anti-RINO PAC”...
How would the PAC define “RINO”?
Please add me to the ping list as well.
Well, let's go RINO hunting!
Add me to the list.
