Dream Act - A lesson for us.
Dec. 19, 2010 | apronius

Posted on 12/19/2010 11:00:35 AM PST by apronius

Yesterday, we dodged a bullet with the failure of the DREAM act. (I know some of you believe it may rear its head again this session; we'll see.) Anyway, the radical amnesty element of the Democrat party is up in arms at that defeat.

Yesterday, we had DADT get repealed. The repeal wouldn't be so bad, but that lowlife Lieberman is putting an amendment for the 2011 Defense Authorization Act Wednesday that will repeal U.S.C. 10 625, making sodomy in the military o.k.

Aside from the whole 'these undermine America thing' (and I know they do), these two items have an interesting connection.

The amnesty crowd is mad. We're mad.

BUT

The amnesty crowd will not give up. It seems many on our side have. Just reading comments here at freerepublic.com, I have nearly gotten down.

This is part of a bigger pattern that has gotten us in the trouble we find ourselves in today.

When the libs want something, they keep going for it, again and again. They don't stop until they get it. And then, they make darned sure that they keep their prize.

They bully Republicans until they peel off enough to get the votes for their trash bills.

Us? Please. Big bunch of wimps.

We decide we want something. Then, we propose it. The dems start their usual crap, and we ask them timidly, 'What would make you happy?' Then we let them change our bill until you can't recognize it. Perfect example; the so-called tax compromise.

Democrat constituents don't give up, either. Immediately following a defeat, those scum are already plotting a new way to get what they want. I've hung around HuffPo and Kos, watching how they operate. I never see handwringing when they lose. Sure, they get angry. But then, they immediately go to action mode.

Conservative constituents? Every danged time the dems pass something, I read the comments:

R.I.P. America

It's over.

We'll never be the same.

Sure, there are a few 'let's kick their a*s' comments, but they are FAR outnumbered by the latter.

I'm not writing this to beat up on conservatives. I'm writing this to provoke a serious conversation. A conversation about why these things are the way they are, and what we can do to change it.

Thanks for reading.

Liberals have taken BigMedia, BigGovernment, BigEducation so they are in the driving seat.

Schools have mandatory race and homosexual lessons, media has homosexual mandates (every TV show must have nice gay couple, and if possible some ugly, stupid and mean conservative). Repeat this every day for 25 years and you see results. Country is more liberal now.

We have to fight back. Part of the fight is in Congress e.g. get rid of racial profiling in jobs and education, stop funding leftists groups in media (NPR etc) and academia (who allow violent protestes against conservatives and open anti-semitic threats).

Part of this must be fought in media (conservative TV writers etc) and academia (try to end funding for those race and queer studies, encourage more conservatives to join academia etc).

We have to not take defeatist attitudes. Then, we have to say, this s*** can all be undone - it’s frankly unconstitutional - and then we have to say, NO MORE MR.NICE Guy and GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE PLAY THEIR GAMES WITH THEIR TACTICS. We say, we will NOT be afraid of soiling our hands with playing dirty pool, and we DO it, with the resolve that it is what is best for our country, our kids, and our grandkids.. WE SAY NO MORE to illegal immigration, to government give-aways, to high taxes, and to so called “liberal” tyranny! And if necessary, we go so far as to withdraw from their socialist state!

THEY ARE ONLY IN THE DRIVERS SEAT AS LONG AS WE ALLOW IT.

It happens in every state. When something fails, people keep bringing it up time and again. What should happen is that once something like the Dream Act fails, it should not be allowed to be brought up again for five years. This would give people time to figure a way to fix things instead of running in like a bull in a china shop.

The one thing from the dream act that has merit is earning citizenship through military service, not just two years though. And learning the english language while doing it.

I assume therefore that Joe is no longer going to continue the absurd claim of being an "Orthodox Jew". After all, Leviticus 20:13 is in the Third Book of Moses, which set out the rules under God's covenant with Israel. By personally sponsoring an amendment to ban God's law as set out in Leviticus, Lieberman can no longer proclaim himself to be an observant Jew. I hope some prominent Jews are willing to tell him that, publicly, frequently, and LOUDLY.

We already have military service/path to citizenship in the law, don’t we?

We need to go on the offense. Call your legislators in January and demand that a nationalized E-Verify system be implemented. Penalties for violators employing illegal aliens must be stiff. Also, the 14th amendment need to be revisited and reinterpreted. We need to call, write, email all of the them, including the Dems. The Dems need to know that we are serious, too. The political environment will never be better for our side but we must apply the pressure. Sitting around and complaining on this board will not suffice. Get involved!!

I would rather have had the dream act pass than the repeal of DADT.

Come to Mexico illegaly and you are a criminal. To become a citizen just join our Mexican military and get a clean record! We will also teach you Spanish and give you an education! Bring your families/relatives too! Do you see any other country willing to do this and encourage more illegals to come?? NO

I trust that our warriors know how to deal with the enemy, even within. We are many more than them.... they roll around in dung, our warriors do not. Never fear.

Just as we're starting to learn about Alinsky's tactics, it's time to learn about Gramsci's doctrine of a "long march through the institutions".

We need to be teachers, college professors, newspaper reporters, etc. etc. Scholarships and internships need to be established for young conservatives interested in political science, journalism, etc, etc. Wealthy conservative should start film studios (heck, considering the trash we see today, they could even make some $$$ in the process).

It won't be fast, it took the left generations. But do it we must.

Many of these issues are 'tricky' and with the left dressing them up with all manner of pretty latitudinal window dressing we see that opposition, let alone debate and or discussion on these issues they push is heated and like traversing a mine field with the media all to happy exploit any missteps real or fabricated...

The left weaves quite a tapestry to promote evil as good...

It would be beneficial if for instance there were not only clearly defined issues that we promote and or oppose and that working these issues required not only "talking points" but as well that "issue experts" be established and these experts well versed in traversing the mine fields for each specific issue be the proxy spokesperson or lead so to speak in the communication efforts.

A coordinated effort that would not only sharpen the spear but would as well eliminate the divide and conquer assault waged upon conservatives by the media and the left --THAT, would be a good start in my opinion...

Tell the media to cram it or speak to X -in essence, take back control of the message...

Sounds to me like YOU are the one who has given up.

The reason for what you see is simple: Democrats MUST get what they want from government because they know they are incapable of fending for themselves. Conservatives are capable of supporting themselves so they would rather not be bothered with the details of government, which they see as more impediment and distraction than anything else. Besides, when government is working properly, what is there to do about it?

Hence, the only reason for conservatives to get involved is preventative. It is to play defense against the statists. Now that things have progressed to this point, we do have to go on the offensive, but the benefits are so far deferred they seem less pressing to us than the urgency of a leftist getting his next government check.

Well sorry if it sounds that way. In NO WISE was that the intent. The idea was to get people talking about this very important issue, so that we can resolve it.

As far as the leftist and his check, if I recall correctly, welfare recipients have a very low voter turnout.

Perhaps it may not seem pressing to some, but a sodomite infiltration of our military, Obamacare, and all the other trash from these guys is pressing to all of us.

Thanks for your comment, Carry.

What's funny is the other side says the exact same thing. It's an interesting symmetry. I can't tell if we're really a bunch of wimps compared to them or not.

And pray tell, what action do you propose? Pound the switchboards and fax machines of our elected officials? Been there, done that, it isn't working, because they're not listening. Wait for the courts to sort it out? They can't be trusted, especially with the SCOTUS' current 4-4-1 alignment. Talk radio and the internet? Sure we can preach to the choir and rally the troops, but to what end? To go to the polls and "send a message"? We sent the loudest message of my lifetime on Nov. 2nd, and they still didn't listen!

There's action that can be taken, and maybe needs to be taken, but it's action most of us don't dare speak of, 'cause to do so would be to invite a knock on the door at 3:00 am. Do many folks think the USA that we've known and loved is dead and gone? Yes, but that doesn't mean they're just wringing their hands and fretting about it. They just aren't discussing their preparations.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

You are dead on. I am always surprised at the amount of Freepers who give up when the rats jam something down our throats. If we continue to fight, some of this garbage can be overturned. Look at Obamacare. It is on life support. People are fighting this and winning.

Good piece of writing.

You make a very valid and good point which as well should be recognized and efforts should take it into account...
