When someone argues with me about this issue I ask them “Do you know a gay person who wants to join the military?” The answer has always been “no”. Then I ask “So are you gay and do you want to join?” The argument is over.

Thanks; good to hear. There was a time when those pushing those agendas felt free to taunt the rest of us on here with supposedly erudite arguments. I’d noticed that I hadn’t seen that sort of thing (abortion and sodomite sympathizers) on here, at least on the threads I’ve visited lately. (It was emotionally EXHAUSTING trying to answer their pronouncements.) Some subjects are so asinine with no redeeming qualities or hope of agreement that decent discussion is impossible and fruitless.
You got a lot of work to do.

I do not know Jim Rob nor his vision for FR. There seems to be much debate on FR about a whole host of issues. I never got the idea that any subject was off limits until I read this specific post. It seems to contradict the name, Free Republic. Free speech, even of horrible positions, is the life blood of a free republic. As I said, FR is free to decide whatever and whomever are on its board. I find homosexuality and abortion to be immoral, and I do not support those that advocate them. On the other hand, I am an avid supporter of free speech.

There have been several occasions where FReepers have yapped on about “...well I can understand the baby would be better off...” blah blah blah!!!!! Middle of the road BS is what’s gotten us in this hell we are in!!!!!!!!!
