War on Christmas comes to Oklahoma bank as feds order removal of crosses

It's that time of year - snow on the ground, Christmas trees being decorated, shoppers angling for the best deals and the annual repeat of classic films like "Miracle on 34th Street".

It's also the time of year when government grinches and ACLU attorneys are on the prowl for anything that might suggest a religious meaning to the Christmas holiday.

After all, it is only the annual celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, and these all-knowing and all-caring bureaucrats and lawyers want to protect us from anything that might cause offense.

Earlier this week, Federal regulators ordered a bank in Perkins, Oklahoma to remove crosses, Bible verses, and Christmas buttons from display because they could be offensive.

The regulatory team from Kansas City declared "a Bible verse of the day, crosses on the teller’s counter and buttons that say 'Merry Christmas, God With Us'" inappropriate, according to a report by KOKO-TV in Oklahoma City.

Not only that, they ordered the bank to remove the Bible verse of the day from the bank's Internet web site.

Failure to comply, the regulators said, would result in referral to the Justice Department for enforcement action.

Government agents run amok. This is an absolute outrage. Fortunately, Jim Inhofe stepped in, with a letter to Eric Holder and Ben Bernanke. No word on the outcome.

Thread is a tad late.

Per an earlier thread this morning, the ban has been rescinded.

It would be nice to transport Washington, Jefferson, and Adams back to the floor of Congress to give these morons a real tongue-lashing. Because you know it would be coming. If they didn’t break down in tears.

Sounds like somebody in the home office wasn't well liked so they sent him out to get in trouble ~ and he didn't disappoint.

What is so amazing is that this idiot didn't also try to ban the letter "T".

“The regulatory team from Kansas City”

Enough of the anonymity. Let’s start naming some names here.

And terminating each one responsible

This crap will not stop until these subversive warriors against America get stopped. This religious bigot needs to be fired and hauled into court just like would happen if he had offended Muslims or homosexuals.
