Palin won't decide on 2012 run for 'some months still'

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) said on Friday she won't decide whether to run for president for "some months still."

The onetime GOP vice presidential nominee said that she would wait some time before declaring her intentions for 2012, adding to the crowd of Republican contenders for president who appear set to kick off their campaigns at a later point, compared to the 2008 cycle.

"It's a prayerful consideration. Other folks can jump in and that kind of helps you get the lay of the land," Palin said of her thought process on "Good Morning America" on ABC. "But my decision won't be made for some months still."

It’s going to be fun to watch...her detractors have no idea what is in store.

I agree. I think she has been running all along, and will make it a formality around early fall 2011. I also think Sarah will attract voters in far greater numbers than the polling currently indicates.

I haven't been this enthused about a candidate since the Gipper himself.

Just curious - how do you think she will be better able to govern in 2016 than in 2012? Other than giving the party insiders a better chance at corrupting her I mean.

Read my tag.

How long can she wait to announce? Most of the big dogs came out with exploratory committees in January 2007.

So she could "come out with exploratory committee in January 2011", and be right on schedule; or she could schedule it however she wishes, and she'd still be right on schedule.

I'd luv to see her Pres, she was the best gov I ever saw up here. Her word was gold, her judgment fair & sound, and she didn't do what the crooked good ole boy repubs told her how it was going to be. Palin was exceptional in local govt too; in her blood.

But always remember what Palin did in 2001-2002. She lost Repub primary to Frank Murkowski by a couple thousand votes. Her base begged her to do a write in and she had a good chance of winning in the fall. Also had a good chance of splitting the conservative vote and allowing Phony Tony Knowles another term as dem gov. Palin refused to run, said she wasn't going to be any part of letting a dem in the back door for a chance at being gov. Frank was lucky and ain't it funny that his own daughter didn't have the same Palin class.

Palin will change the repub party for the better, not destroy it's chances. Palin is the real deal. Palin also has been destroyed by the media. If people would only look at her record of accomplishments at every position she held rather than what they hear from the media; Palin would be our nx Pres. I don't have much faith in the American voter just the same. Palin will be a positive force at whatever she does and that's a good thing.

Sarah would make a great president, but I think she wisely has decided to cash in on her fame, and do so while her celebrity quotient is high. Leaving the Alaska governorship in mid-term and growing the family bank account through a book deal, TV shows, and personal appearances are the tip-offs.

You distort what Sarah Palin has done over the past year and one-half.

I am not a detractor, but a supporter. If she runs, I will vote for her in a heartbeat...and hope she wins. One area of improvement that is critical will be her ability to given crisp, properly formed, and grammatically correct answers to questions. She is bright, but her stream-of-consciousness style of speaking is a detriment. For a conservative to win the WH, the individual must be a polished communicator.

Speak for yourself jerk!

I AM speaking for myself, jerk! We can't afford Sarah Palin in 2012 if she doesn't win. You disagree with that? Do you WANT four more years of Obama if you don't get your dream candidate?

I'm always suspicious of the media and I think their constant focus on Palin is because they WANT to run against her. It may backfire on them big time, and I hope it does. But I'd watch the polls. If she keeps unfavorables in the 50s, conservatives would be much smarter to get behind DeMint, Pence, Christie, Rubio or someone else less radioactive.

2012 is too important to have a candidate that will give us four more years of Obama.

No distortion; her political activities have been secondary to her achieving financial security for her family, something I applaud. If she runs, I enthusiastically will support her candidacy and vote for her. I just think she won’t enter the fray, at least for the 2012 election cycle. She remains relevant to the process only so long as she keeps the American public and the media guessing...and that’s not a bad thing.

Well I don’t think anyone who can be corrupted would be a bad choice so that pretty much rules her out.

Sarah is more than ready NOW and America cannot wait for her until 2016 to save our republic. It would be all over by then with 30-40 million new mexican/socialist voters to insure the DNC/Socialist party of their marxist dictatorship as far as the eye can see.

I personally don’t think she will be ready as of yet and should wait till 2016 if she were to run at all.

Me too, personally I feel another 4 years of Obama is great, according to Rush.

Never heard of Executive Orders I presume? The President has amassed enormous powers, while you have been sleeping.

I have said from the beginning that this president has the notion that he will never leave this office, whether or not this turns out to be true remains to be seen.

The massive House defeat gives reason for hope, but we leave major RINO's in power in the House and Senate. 2012 will be the deciding factor on the future of this nation. Will we choose freedom, or will the corrupt election process lead us into tyranny?

Or she could wait until mid-November, which is when the big guy actually announced, and watch the pundits shivering with antici..............................pation.

Thirty years ago, it was possible to wait until November to announce, that's no longer the case.

So much of the deal is about fund-raising now, she's got to get in early. There is only so much money to go around, if she's not in the donors will start giving it to Romney and Huckabee. Romney wants this more than anything, expect him to try to grab as much donor money as possible from the start and then spend $50 to 100 million of his own money if necessary.

that was my point - I dont think she will run if she thinks it will mean giving the seat back to bama.

Personaly, i like her a ton and will vote, campaign, and fdonate $ to her, however, afte rthe complete mess left by bama, I almost don’t want to see her there knowing that they will blame her for it.
