Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee went out of his way Wednesday to denounce a brief reference to his stand on energy issues deep in a story posted on the political website RealClearPolitics.com.
The issue at hand dates back to 2007, when Huckabee made energy security a key plank in his bid for the 2008 nomination, saying then that he favored a cap-and-trade approach to curbing carbon emissions — a policy later embraced by President Barack Obama.
...In an October 2007 appearance at the Global Warming and Energy Solutions Conference in Manchester, N.H., Huckabee said during part of a larger speech on environmental policy: “I also support cap and trade of carbon emissions. And I was disappointed that the Senate rejected a carbon counting system to measure the sources of emissions, because that would have been the first and the most important step toward implementing true cap and trade.”

Well, maybe he’s come around. The fact that even the Gorester has abandoned this stuff (after making boatloads of money on it) shows you how flimsy it was.
His instinct is to be a socialist. Then, when he’s surprised (surprised!) by the conservative reaction to his socialism he suddenly becomes a CONVERT.

The ONLY difference between Huckabee and a Demoncrat is the the Huckster is against abortion but other than that he is just another lying Demoncrat.
Recall how the Huckster want to give ILLEGALS scholarships for college and gran them amnesty. He also NEVER met a tax he didn't implement. Let's also not forget how he pardoned a criminal and he killed again and THEN tried to blame the release on the Prosecutors. The Huckster is bad news. Just because he does some "Jesus speak" doesn't mean he cant be the charlatan he is. Don't be fooled.
The bottom line is also that he lied about it.
That is a problem.

Also, frankly, anyone who would even toy with the idea of cap and trade, even for a minute, is either corrupt, opportunist, or nuts.

Did you see the reference to measuring carbon at the source? Now, take a good look at the carbon credits scam run by the Algore. There's no "measurement there" ~ just an estimation of "carbon output" ~ and all easily corrupted.
No one has ever said anything about a C&P that actually involved measurement at the source ~ except the Huck.
How is it that you figure that's Socialism? Sounds more like standard campaign language evasiveness.
Frankly, as long as no one wants a mandatory carbon credit scam, we're probably in pretty good shape because NONE of this stuff is going to get voted into place.
NOTE: Few Democrats, and fewer Freepers, are deep enough into any of this to know how to read about what someone said and figure out what he's doing, nor do they care.
BTW, socialism traditional demands public ownership of means of production. Today that's considered so gauche, it's not worth discussing. Governments cannot be trusted with anything that has to do with making stuff ! They can't even run railroads (which, notice, with passenger service now an antiquated idea ~ one that'll be rapidly replaced with semi-automated automobile operating systems, just about all the remaining passenger systems are GOVERNMENT OWNED and are heavily subsidized.).
Public ownership means bloated retirement plans, bad service, and bus routes set up to pick up wealthy people's maids and gardeners.
Oh yeah, he pardoned hundreds of killers who “found Jesus” in prison, one of whom who eventually went on a cop-killing spree in Washington state. Thanks for reminding us.
