Mystery of Christine O’Donnell’s Rent — SOLVED
RED STATE ^ | December 15, 2010 | CURE SOCIALISM

FOUND THIS AT www.CureSocialism.com

The mystery of Christine O’Donnell’s rent and campaign expenses has now been solved.

One of the scams run by the liberal news media and the Left was the claim that Christine O’Donnell was using campaign money to pay her rent. (Never mind that FEC laws and regulations allow a campaign to pay the candidate a salary. Otherwise only rich people could afford to run for office.)

All true conservatives know that the news media lies. A person who reads or listen to the mainstream media and believes what they say about a conservative leader or candidate does not have any genuine experience in conservative politics.

How many times have I attended a rally or press conference in person, then returned home to flip on the news — and what is reported bears no resemblance to what I personally witnessed a few hours before?

So the news media attacked Christine O’Donnell. When experienced conservatives heard those stories, they immediately understood the hogwash. Conservatives know that this is the same old song the Left and their fellow travelers in the media have been singing for decades, since portraying Barry Goldwater was a war-mongering lunatic.

Christine O’Donnell’s campaign reported that her U.S. Senate campaign paid “half the rent” on the condominium townhouse that Christine lived in in Wilmington, Delaware.

So imagine my surprise, when I visited my friend Christine after the election at the famous townhouse condo. Er, condos — there are two of them!

We should have expected the Delaware news media and national news media to be completely incompetent in mis-reporting this information.

The reason the O’Donnell campaign paid “half” the rent is because 1 of 2 townhouses is 100% dedicated to office space and the other townhouse is living space. There were and are TWO (2) completely different townhouses.

But both condos were contracted through the same realtor in one single contract. So “half” the rent means ONE (1) of the TWO (2) completely different townhouses.

Christine O’Donnell’s campaign paid for the townhouse used 100% completely and separately for NOTHING but office space. For convenience, the two townhouses are next door to each other. But they do not connect.

The townhouse (condo) used for living space was the half NOT paid for by the campaign.

The liberal news media, Left-wing activists, and “sore loser” moderate Republicans tried to suggest that Christine O’Donnell was living in one part of a single apartment and the other part of the same apartment was used for office space.

So I was surprised to visit the office-use townhouse as completely separate from the other townhouse used for living space. Why was I surprised?

Of course, what is different about these lies is that the Delaware Republican Party helped spread these lies. Kristin Murray worked for the Delaware Republican Party under Tom Ross, then spent 1 1/2 weeks as Christine O’Donnell’s campaign manager in 2008. Christine fired Kristin Murray for not showing up to do any work. (Apparently Kristin Murray had some personal relationship crises that seemed more important at the time and distracted her from being consistent about work.)

Christine then talked to Tom Ross about the problem. So Tom Ross actually knew that Kristin Murray was not actually Christine O’Donnell’s campaign manager for more than 1 1/2 weeks. Tom Ross actually knew that Kristin Murray was not a reliable source of any information about Christine O”Donnell or O’Donnell’s 2008 campaign.

Yet in March 2010, Tom Ross and Kristin Murray knowingly lied to the Delaware News Journal, to national Republicans, and to Delaware and national media. Knowing it to be a lie, Delaware Republican Chair Tom Ross actively spread the slanderous lie that Christine O’Donnell was paying her personal (living space) rent with campaign funds. Tom Ross knew that to be false at the time, and knows now that he lied about Christine O’Donnell.

This is why a Delaware activist has created a website:

Gay activist websites trashed Christine O'Donnell and that's good enough for Palladin.

Hey Palladin!

I saw Dane. Then I saw Willie Green.

Now I see you.

This is yet another back stab by RINO’s against the Tea Party. We can forgive but must never forget.

Good to know. I don’t know how many times I saw that info repeated.

LOL...what a funny story...

Too bad her receipts don’t reflect this new story.

The receipts—and her statements—and what we all know—show that she played some funny games.

Did she have the media in to walk thru the rooms and video everything?

Why not?

I’d like to see those receipts that you have seen. Sometimes “what we all know” is merely “what we have been told”.

Go to the FEC website. They have both the images (where you can see that both lodging and campaign office are listed—handwritten), as well as being able to download as CSV files. Just import to Excel and you can sort.

It has money coming in and money going out. The campaingn pays for rent. CREW missed that there are a few minor payments from Miss O’Donnell to the campaign, but it’s sure not a big chunk of what the campaign paid. Nothing listed from Mr. Hust, IIRC.

I wonder if there has been a reversal by Cleta Mitchell now that the FEC is investigating and has required answers before Dec 29. Seems maybe some stories are changing retroactively, sorta like the 8 previous citations Miss O’Donnell received, and the mysterious savings account that magically appeared (”O, I forgot to report it!”) before.

If any Dem had played these games, FReepers would be all over it. She’s wily enough to pretend to be a conservative, though, so she gets a pass. Dems love her because she helps them get elected; conservatives give her a pass; and she gets to live off other peoples’ money. Everyone wins.

For example, take a look here:

Note also, this is only one of her rent scandals. How about the “Reimbursements” to Brent Vasher that are suspiciously like rent payments at 518 N Lincoln St?

There is insufficient evidence to make a judgement here.

When were the complaints made about her getting half her rent? It sounds like it was a complaint from the 2008 campaign by the short-lived 2008 campaign manager.

But when was the visit made to the townhouses? After this current election? How do we know that the situation didn’t change?

We could know, since the story talks about paperwork, rental agreements, and the like — if we SAW The paperwork, we could see when the two townhomes being discussed now were rented.

But I’m not sure what the point is. We already knew that it was legal for her to have the campaign pay half, whether there were one or two townhomes. People set up offices in their homes all the time, and that is a valid way of running a campaign. What difference does it make whether they offices are in the same home, or next door? It’s like a solution searching for a problem.

It also seems that if this explanation was available, the campaign would have used it, rather than all the explanations they did use. I would note that this story is from someone who visited the home, not from the campaign.

Gondring, who has been bitch-slapped on every topic, says Too bad her receipts don’t reflect this new story.

Her receipts DO reflect these facts. The same real estate company arranged TWO (2) different townhouses, next to each other.

ONE-HALF of the rent paid for the condos -- that is ONE out of TWO condos -- was paid by the campaign.

Christine and her sister lived in the other townhouse and paid for it themselves.

I am not suggesting that Christine's PR people did a good job. I don't think Christine is very happy with her PR people, herself.

However, these attacks started with REPUBLICAN insiders who DID know the truth, and lied about it. Republican insiders had the opportunity to meet the campaign at the original campaign HQ (the campaign moved to a much bigger space on Silverside after the primary).

Tom Ross and the other GOP insiders who started this snowball rolling down hill knew that they were lying.

Also, Christine's PR spokesman Doug told me, somewhat depressed, that it did not matter what Christine's campaign issued to the press. Press statements were completely ignored from Christine by the Delaware news media. Based on that, I suspect that the information was provided to the Delaware news media who simply refused to acknowledge it.

Go to the FEC website. ... The campaingn pays for rent.

GONDRING obviously has learning disabilities. He did not read the original post.

Yes, the campaign paid for rent on the 1 (out of 2) townhouses used for the campaign.

But that townhouse was used 100% exclusively for office space and campaign purposes.

The rent paid for by the campaign was for the campaign headquarters -- a completely separate townhouse from where Christine lived.

The Democrats, the media and the entire popular culture industries went after Christine and Sharon Angle full time and with every toxic weapon they could muster. Anyone who blames either of these women for the loss of their Senate seat, is part of the problem.

How about the “Reimbursements” to Brent Vasher that are suspiciously like rent payments at 518 N Lincoln St?

Brent Vasher paid for a great many expenses out of his own pocket for the 2008 campaign. Brent Vasher put all of the hotel expenses for the May 2008 convention on his credit card. So, Brent Vasher was legitimately owed reimbursement of actual 2008 campaign expenses from the 2008 campaign.

It appears that under pressure to pay back those expenses, the amounts and timing were what was necessary to cover Brent's obligations on the mortgage.

However, the payments were for legitimate 2008 campaign expense reimbursements.
