DeMint has consistently been one of the top three or four most conservative Senators, and none of the FReepers on this thread know all the facts involved, yet they are blasting DeMint as though he were an enemy of the Republic.

Did any of them bother calling his office for an explanation before condemning him? Or is it hanging first, trial later?

No, we’re all fed up with the House DADT vote and kneejerking to make us feel better.

That’s how I feel anyway.

There, I said it.

You wouldn’t let facts stand in the way of a good hanging, would you? /s

I'm with you! Sen DeMint has been one of the few voices we can count on. Lets get some facts before we flip out.

So you think its good to wipe out half our nuclear subs while China is building nuclear subs? What about not retaliating with nuclear weapons after we have been hit by a biological and/or chemical attack?

This is coming from a Senate that is worried that the next Senate will not pass it. The fact that it’s being rammed down should give you great concern.

Perhaps we are reacting in haste, but DeMint could have still demanded a full reading of the bill to fill up the time required for the treason lobby to get the rest of their horrid agenda passed.

Reading the START bill would have eaten up 15 hours of precious time, which would have helped to forestall the damage these Democrats intend to do to us.

I'm sorry, but I think he should have stood firm, even if he's got the votes to defeat this. Giving concessions to the enemy is bad business.

I’ll bet most of us are on demint’s email list. If demint caves, it’s no better than any other rino sucking up. I

If you are not for the constitution, if you vote against it, you are the enemy. If demint caves, he’s no better than Pelosi or Reid. The bottom line is upholding the constitution. If demint agrees with the dark side, then he is in the enemy camp. I really don’t care anymore.

I will not hold any allegiance to any person. I’m hoping demint won’t cave, is this a propaganda campaign against him?

The fact that they are RAMING IT THROUGH should be a clue enough that something is wrong with it.

It’s like a used car dealership trying to say “you have to buy it now you have to buy it now” B.S.

Why does it have to be done before the new Senators come in. Common you know what’s going on here. Any time someone tries to rush something then you KNOW it’s bad.

Hear, hear. The vocal knee-jerk reactions throwing solid conservative Sen. DeMint under the bus is embarrassing to conservatism. Libertarians? DeMint ain’t caving to nothing. IMHO, if he’s not pursuing this action any longer it’s because he believes START doesn’t have the votes to pass anyway.

Unlike the hotheads I always hold my fire. So we’ll see. But one thing is for sure - this treaty better not pass.

You’ve got that right savedbygrace. DeMint has stood strong on conservative causes...there is more to this then meets the eye. What a knee jerk reaction from freepers in this case.

These are the typical “useful idiots” the Marxists spoke about. Democrats/Marxists are destroying the country and all they these “conservatives” do is bash Republicans based on liberal media spin.

Meanwhile the only thing that really matters is the Dream act Amnesty and if that will be stopped. No they are more worried about bashing Republicans who have no power now as democrats have all the power.

If the Dream act is not stopped and illegals are not deported soon then the U.S. is done and their will never be another conservative elected ever in the U.S.

‘Did any of them bother calling his office for an explanation before condemning him? Or is it hanging first, trial later?’

Why do that when you can just moan and groan and criticize from behind your keyboard...;) All you have to do is look at which Republicans opposed Jim DeMint to know what the score is. And btw, as that related to Gov. Palin, a high majority of the time, Palin and DeMint are on the same side of most issues and candidates.
