Charles Krauthammer Tells Bill O’Reilly Sarah Palin Must Expand Policy Knowledge
Mediaite ^ | 12/14/10 | Glen Davis

Bill O’Reilly recently talked with frequent Fox News guest Charles Krauthammer to handicap potential GOP candidates’ chances in the 2012 presidential election. Krauthammer called Mitt Romney the front-runner” and said Mike Huckabee has established himself as a “major player”…but his most dissected comments will probably be his remarks on one Sarah Palin.

Krauthammer compared Palin’s problem to Hillary Clinton’s in the late 1990s – strong support from her core base, virulent opposition from most others. O’Reilly asked if the level of opposition to Palin is the media’s fault, and while Krauthammer said they’ve “contributed enormously” and that “the animus to her is unprecedented,” he also allowed that “she is not practiced in policy” and that the infamous Katie Couric interview was “not a ‘gotcha’ interview.” According to Krauthammer, Palin’s growth in mastering policy issues will shape her fate:

“I think if you want to expand your base, you have to get into policy even though it sounds dull.”

I've asked you for a source for your quote.

Provide it please. Thank you.

Real odd, especially since he was re-elected massively in 06 after he gave the $$ to the wounded marines fund in 2005.

So you proudly supported someone for president in 2008 that took kickbacks from an aerospace outfit, DuPont Aerospace, and used influence (along with Duke Cunningham) while he sat on the House Armed Services Committee to pressure the Department of Defense to continue funding a failed VTOL aircraft.
Apparently your chosen candidates don't need to be as perfect as you demand of Sarah Palin.

...getting Sarah Palin or any other culture war type elected will not be done running on culture war issues alone or that being the heaviest emphasis. It simply does not sell with the mushy middle or younger people and least of all just about any minority except a handful.

You're so right! We social conservatives have yet to learn the lessons of the Far Left. They spent YEARS getting things into place. They got themselves into positions of authority in Universities, and well known non-profit organizations. They got their people into positions from which Federal Judges would be drawn, and as a result, they control many of the Federal Court Districts now, and when it comes time to choose a nominee for the Supremes, a Democrat President has many people from which to choose.

They implemented, incrementally, the changes with which we are now living, and many regular folks didn't even notice, and don't see any problem with the way things are, because it's been done so slowly, in many cases, it seems to many that it's always been that way. For those younger than 30, it HAS, in their living memory, always been that way. They especially have been indoctrinated with the liberal ideas of diversity and equality, especially with regards to homosexuality and abortion, so anything that smacks of unequal treatment will arouse their ire. They have to be shown how destructive the lifestyle can be before they can be convinced that society should not be forced to accept or approve of it.

We'll have to be very smart and very patient, in order to achieve our goals. I know it's hard to wait, because it seems like we've waited forever, but if we want to get it done, patience IS the watchword. We have to get our own farm team of good candidates into the pipeline, or we'll never get back into any positions of power.

If he's going to mock Sarah Palin with a purported Palin quote, he needs to provide a source.

Provide it, Hospice Nurse.

Kraut is extremely sharp when he sticks to what he knows best...the human psyche. He understands why people do things, and what they mean. However, politicians aren’t “human”...they pretend to be something they are not, and they cater to those who might disagree with them. I know there is much more to it, but you get the gist.

As far as Palin is concerned...I like her just where she is. She’s a kingmaker, and I love her Facebook postings. I love that she hits back, and is unafraid of the effect it has on her. I love that she’s raising her female children to be thick-skinned, rock-ribbed conservatives...and I love that Todd is the ultimate role model for the men in the family.

Mostly...I love that she makes the LSM’s and ‘Rat’s heads explode! lol

Framkly, I think the moves she’s making...and she’s playing chess...are to make those wannabe presidential candidates think twice about running. She’s “threatening” to run if there isn’t another pricipled conservative running.

Good on her!

It was just awful. I’ll bet the House reprimanded him severely.

But just for the record, MENSA, it is the DOD that pressures Congress to fund things, not the other way around. The Congress’ job is to equip the military. What it legislates, the DOD buys. And that old Hunter was just awful. He wouldn’t let Clinton’s DOD kill Star Wars. The nerve of that man.

No super brain, the Department of Defense wanted to quit funding the failed VTOL that Hunter and Cunningham were being paid to pimp for and allocate the money to the development of a better aircraft. The Army, Navy, Air Force and even NASA didn't want the piece of crap, but old Duncan and his jailbird buddy Duke kept pimping for it. BTW all 4 test models crashed, but old Duncan wanted to keep it going, wonder why super brain?
And now back to my original statement which you did not comment on (BTW that is a normal troll tactic):

So you proudly supported someone for president in 2008 that took kickbacks from an aerospace outfit, DuPont Aerospace, and used influence (along with Duke Cunningham) while he sat on the House Armed Services Committee to pressure the Department of Defense to continue funding a failed VTOL aircraft. Department of Defense wanted to quit funding the failed VTOL

Like I said, it is the DOD that lobbies Congress, not the other way around. They lobby for what programs they want and which ones they don't. They lobby for lots of things. Right now, they are lobbying Congress to repeal DADT. Hopefully, there will be enough Hunter-esque congresscritters to stop it. The type of men that can see through the political bullsh*t that comes through through the DOD (vis a vis the executive branch). You may not like the VTOL (which was a lightly funded R&D project) and the "Pentagon" may not have wanted it, but that's tough. The Russians are still pursuing it, we've dropped the ball.

SO next time you tell me the DOD reigns supreme, bring your justification for Bill Perry and Co. trying to kill star wars versus Hunter who force fed it to Clinton's DOD. Bring your justification for Bob Gates lobbying for new START and letting queers in. Bring your justification for killing the F-22. I know you respect the wishes of an Obama or Clinton led DOD over what conservatives think our military needs are, but you should try to hide it better on a conservative forum.

After doing several Internet searches, which anyone can do, it appears that Duncan was involved in pushing several projects for the purpose of donations only.
I wouldn't call Duncan a crook, but I wouldn't call him as pure as the driven snow either.

I know you respect the wishes of an Obama or Clinton led DOD over what conservatives think our military needs are, but you should try to hide it better on a conservative forum.

With all the DU, Rat and MSM crap you spout everyday against Sarah Palin , I don't see how you can even mention the word conservative, hypocrite.
I should probably cuss you out for those accusations, but I find it's much better to laugh at you and watch you trip over your own BS on a regular basis.

Well Ace, this all started to kick your cage and jerk your chain for the way you were treating Palin supporters and Palin herself. I decided to give you some of your own medicine by attacking your "cult" hero Duncan.
I started with one stupid statement by Hunter and you lost it, as I thought you would. I did further research on Hunter and discovered Hunter wasn't the man I thought he was. I had no idea of his close tie with Cunningham on several shady things, that surprised the hell out of me. Hunter, at best appears to be your typical influence peddling for profit, conservative sounding politician. He did many conservative things, which were terrific, but had his hand out also.
To put it bluntly, he can't match Palin in the honesty department just based on the money he had to return once caught. I use the word "caught" because he made no attempt to return it or give it away to charity until found out( at least 2 occasions).
