Bill OReilly recently talked with frequent Fox News guest Charles Krauthammer to handicap potential GOP candidates chances in the 2012 presidential election. Krauthammer called Mitt Romney the front-runner and said Mike Huckabee has established himself as a major player but his most dissected comments will probably be his remarks on one Sarah Palin.
Krauthammer compared Palins problem to Hillary Clintons in the late 1990s strong support from her core base, virulent opposition from most others. OReilly asked if the level of opposition to Palin is the medias fault, and while Krauthammer said theyve contributed enormously and that the animus to her is unprecedented, he also allowed that she is not practiced in policy and that the infamous Katie Couric interview was not a gotcha interview. According to Krauthammer, Palins growth in mastering policy issues will shape her fate:
I think if you want to expand your base, you have to get into policy even though it sounds dull.

You need to read post #’s 228 and 229 for a lesson in reality and objectivity.
Reality? I read them. A simple google search says they are BS.
Well obviously they have something in common to talk about, aerospace outfits and questionable donations.....just saying.
Wonder if that's the reason he didn't run again and turned the family business over to his son?
He really just doesn't seem to be hitting the national airwaves and fighting for conservatism as much as Sarah.
‘Special Report’ Panel on Obama’s Handling of Harvard Professor’s Arrest
Monday, July 27, 2009
CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER, SYNDICATED COLUMNIST:
And this story, when the Cambridge police came out, a multi- racial police force came out and spoke unanimously about how this was wrong, this was not about race, and the president really ought to apologize, they understood it was a serious political issue. It seems that a lot of the Obama presidency is a contest between his intelligence and his arrogance. And I think he thought when he was asked that question Wednesday night that he can say anything on race and is so smart that he will be untouchable. And one reason is that he gave the famous speech in Philadelphia, the race speech, during the campaign, which, in fact, he did not renounce Jeremiah Wright. He blamed everybody for racism, black, white and grandmother, except for himself, and was hailed by a supine press as the second coming of Lincoln at Cooper Union. So after that, you think you can say anything on race and be hailed as a genius. Well, he now understands that you can’t get away with that forever, and he got really caught on this one.

Panel on the Latest in the Health Care Debate
By Special Report With Bret Baier
BAIER: Another issue is what he’s saying about doctors. Take a listen to this from the town hall this week.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: If a family care physician works with his patient to help them lose weight, modify diet, monitors whether they’re taking their medications in a timely fashion, they might get reimbursed a pittance. But if that same diabetic ends up getting their foot amputated, that’s $30,000, $40,000, $50,000 immediately the surgeon is reimbursed. Why not make sure we’re also reimbursing the care that prevents the amputation, right? That will save us money.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
BAIER: That is not sitting well with the AMA American Medical Association, a group that the president cites as supporting his health care reform. Here surgeons are not paid $30,000 to $50,000 to amputate a diabetic’s foot. Medicare pays a surgeon on average $541 to $708 for one of two procedures involving a foot amputation.
The American College of Surgeons says that remark was ill-informed and dangerous, as well as a remark a couple of weeks ago about taking children’s tonsils out.
So Charles, what about this, and how much this has hurt him.
KRAUTHAMMER: Well, when the president is off in talking about the fee for an amputation, off by a factor of at least 30, he’s got trouble, and it makes people worry about all his other so-called facts.

True. he ain’t raking in the dough as a ‘Fox Contributor’ like Palin....and Newt, and Huck, and Bolton. And I know his reality show on TLC with Kate is still a ways off. I’m certain he hasn’t spent countless hours with political advisers - like Palin’s $400K+ worth this year - so he he won’t sound like an idiot when he does get on TV. And I’m almost positive he didn’t spend time campaigning for a gaggle of RINOs throughout the summer. Though I’m sure he’ll be on Oprah soon.
Real odd, especially since he was re-elected massively in 06 after he gave the $$ to the wounded marines fund in 2005.
The Couric interview was not a test of knowledge on policy or anything else.
If Krauthammer thinks the interview can be used as a test for what Palin knows, he doesn’t have the intellect everyone thinks he has.
I don’t care if Krauthammer is simply a fool or if he is truly the product of a decision made when he worked for Jimmy Carter to install socialist moles within conservative ranks.
To say the Couric interview was “not a gotcha interview” is to demonstrate, for all to see, how the evil mastermind and the fool eventually become one and the same.
And we all know that every American voter is on FR!
Ha ha , all the good ones. LOL.
“Facebook is for teenagers to swap you tube links and dirty jokes, not a platform for a serious candidate to hold the most powerful position on earth! Geez! Sarah Palin has never made a policy speech or outlined a proposal ever on the national level.”
All her facebook posts are policy statements.
If you don’t understand that facebook is only a medium for Palin’s ideas, or that ideas are not changed by the medium which carries them, then you’re the best argument out there that we should require intelligence tests before granting the right to vote.

Yes... and he is a liberal on social affairs.
LLS
Amen and we are going to push Americanism and we are going to pummel anyone that gets in the way. WE are going to take this country back... one way or the other.

What does that have to do with becoming President of the United States of America? Why does she have to jump over this hurdle but Obama gets a pass? We now have a President that hasn't a clue about policy and we now have the proof that his "policy" is a total disaster ... yet he is not questioned for a "gotcha' moment." Sorry Charles, I'm your greatest fan, but your premise is screwed up!
So if you plan on running for President you should expand your policy knowledge? Wow! That’s genius! Unless you are at least half Black.
Gee, I wonder why you didn’t include the actual transcript of 7-22-09, the actual date of the press conference and the actual date that krauthammer, immediately concluding the obama press conference, warbled and slurped about how brilliant and masterful he thought obama was? In the days following 7-22-09, he predictably adjusted and changed his tune to fall into line with the uproar over obama’s castigation of officer Crowley that krauthammer did not realize was an egregiously inappropriate comment for obama to make. Just as he did when obama’s poll numbers started to fall and he suddenly became a harsh critic after weeks of mostly fawning coverage from him.
