Bill OReilly recently talked with frequent Fox News guest Charles Krauthammer to handicap potential GOP candidates chances in the 2012 presidential election. Krauthammer called Mitt Romney the front-runner and said Mike Huckabee has established himself as a major player but his most dissected comments will probably be his remarks on one Sarah Palin.
Krauthammer compared Palins problem to Hillary Clintons in the late 1990s strong support from her core base, virulent opposition from most others. OReilly asked if the level of opposition to Palin is the medias fault, and while Krauthammer said theyve contributed enormously and that the animus to her is unprecedented, he also allowed that she is not practiced in policy and that the infamous Katie Couric interview was not a gotcha interview. According to Krauthammer, Palins growth in mastering policy issues will shape her fate:
I think if you want to expand your base, you have to get into policy even though it sounds dull.

Yes, FB is a networking site. It isn’t a place to refine one’s ability to communicate policy positions in a mutable environment. See my post above for further details.
Yes, you’re right of course, and dear Charles is the embodiment of the ultimate Beltway snob. The trouble for Charles is that he would be immensely charmed by Sarah Palin and also converted to her side because she *is* truly smart. She just doesn’t “dell” (that ‘s deal) in $10 dollar words, which dominate Charles=speak.
“Jindalcouldnt even build a sandbar to protect his states coastline from an oil spill. Oh, and he isnt natural born either.”
To be fair here, have you heard any of his recent interviews about his book (that he wrote in large part out of anger over the disgraceful BHO treatment of the BP spill and his outrageous treatment of La. and Jindal while down there)? He outlines how he (BJ) had workers ready to start building the sand berms and BHO said they had to wait at least two weeks while he “got authorization” for them to begin??
As to your second statement - that hasn’t seemed to be a problem for the current occupier of the White House now, has it? In fact, it’d be very interesting were Jindal the candidate, to see just how the ‘Rats and lamestream media would treat THAT issue, since they’ve totally ignored it with BHO and so fiercely protected him.
My first reaction to Twitter was what a dumb childish name...but when the only news coming out of an Iranian uprising was on Twitter I knew I had to get with the program. Some people need to mothball their rotary phone and try to catch up~
Well, Charles was a democrat for the majority of his life and Hillary went to Wellsley and Yale.
In San Fransicko, maybe...
At least with Palin, you’d know she would do the right thing and you could trust her judgment to be sound & fair. Best Gov I ever saw up here. Minus 28 at 9 pm, cool for nx few days I hear; feed the wood stoves.
He’s really not that brilliant. He proclaimed in August 2009 that the townhall protests and the tea party would turn moderates/independents away from the gop and hurt them in the election. He defended the “science” behind global warming and the “scientists” spending hundreds of millions in grant money when the scandal broke in Nov 2009. He wrote a column saying Palin “should leave the room” regarding the healthcare debate, excoriated her over her “death panel” metaphor, then proceeded to plagiarize her “death panel” facebook note. Immediately after the 7-22-09 barry press conference, where obama said the Boston policeman acted stupidly and that doctors were greedily amputating feet so they could collect $30,000+ from insurance co.s, etc. Krauthammer gushed over and declared that obama was brilliant and masterful. He was so uninformed on the issues during the Biden-Palin 2008 debate, he was unaware that Biden made 18 different glaring errors. He sneered down his nose at those trying to save Terri Schiavo from a 13 day torture until dead from denial of water, he’s pro-abortion, I could go on and on.
“He wrote a column saying Palin should leave the room regarding the healthcare debate, excoriated her over her death panel metaphor, then proceeded to plagiarize her death panel facebook note.”
Exactly.!!!!
Explains a lot and how much to trust his opinions.
I remember as if it were yesterday the ‘almighty’ Krauthammer’s disdain of Sarah from day one. I pray she ignores him because he is not nearly as smart as he thinks he is.
Best Governor! Yep! She'll make us a great President, too.
Yikes, I just shivered when I read "minus 28" !!!!
I am cold and complaining: 33 degrees....lol.
Bullsh*t. He and o’reilly are playing their little pernicious, practiced game to keep the viewers thinking Palin isn’t doing anything to advance her knowledge base or hasn’t done anything to further her knowledge. They specifically know that she’s written on and discussed a myriad of policy issues during the last two plus years, but their objective is to freeze the viewer/voters’ impression of Palin at September 2008. They’re using their voice/position of authority as fox “news” anchors and analysts to dishonestly and perniciously cause viewers/voters to think Palin is uninformed and is not studying up on the issues compared to their favored candidates. And fwiw, krauthammer despises huckabee.
Thanks very much for the reminder.
Sarah Palin changed the national opinion on obamacare with her three words: "obama's death panels."
Now, they're admitting she was right.
Her degree is in journalism. She writes very well.
Her first media job was a sports caster on TV.
Sarah haters are never looking for legitimate answers, but you already know that.
I guess Charles isn't one of Sarah's Facebook friends. She's been making policy and issue statements all year via the social network, not to mention her Op-Eds in the WSJ, and other conservative mags. I'm sure there are plenty of things she could learn, and she seems like a person who does just that, when the need arises.
The most important thing about a President, though is not that the person be the uniformly most educated person, but someone with the good judgment to know who would be the best people from whom to get advice about issues.
