Woman Whipped In Public For Wearing Trousers ("Religion Of Peace" strikes again)
Sky News ^ | 12/14/2010 | Angela Barnes

The video offers a rare glimpse of the type of punishment inflicted on women who break the country's strict morality code.

The victim was punished under Sharia law for wearing trousers under her Islamic clothing.

The footage shows her crawling on the ground, raising her arm to try to ward off the attacks and screaming as the whip strikes.

The public punishment sparked protests among females against laws they said humiliated women.

Dozens of them were arrested.

The governor of Khartoum said there had been a mistake in the way the victim's punishment had been carried out.

Sky's foreign affairs editor Tim Marshall said: "It is a frequent occurrence but very rarely filmed.

"The punishment is under laws brought in 1991 for indecent behaviour - it is justice under those laws."

What a lovely bunch. I used to work with a guy who fled the Sudan, into Lebanon, and then became a US citizen. The stories he can tell are painful to listen to. He came here in the 1980’s. It cost him over $100,000 in immigration attorneys fees to become a citizen.

I don’t believe in public flogging, but I do think the wearing of spandex should have a weight limitation. /humor

I can't figure out how they can stay so quiet on abuse like this? I find it dishonest for them to cherry pick their advocacy issues based on human rights. When it comes to islam / sharia law, they have to actually make an effort to not speak of it. So to me it's a real charicter flaw.

Yeah, they forgot the “no cameras” rule.

American feminists will justify their non-reaction to the fact that these countries are not as advanced as the US so they only are outraged at US atrocities to women.

Cue Lee Greenwood - “They hate the USA!”

Western human rights are understood by islam around the world, like shakespeare is understood being read aloud to swine.

Hmmm. It's tough but I don't think I can blame them for this one.

No, it’s not justice because those are unjust laws!

‘The public punishment sparked protests among females against laws they said humiliated women.”

That’s the point, to humiliate women. It drives the religion.

The feminist movement was never about helping women -- it was about using "women's rights" as a vehicle for promoting socialism. Since Islam is compatible with socialism, they are silent.

I’m not so sure how Islam is compatable with socialism, but on the rest I agree.

Glad to see the dog is obeying leash laws regarding walking beasts. I sure hope he doesn’t have to clean up her mess.
