Though the 1983 movie Christmas Story did not make much of an impression when it was initially released, it has since become a perennial holiday favorite with families across the country, as we are not only treated to Ralphies hilarious quest to obtain a Red Ryder BB gun, but as the film reminds all of us of our own childhood memories of Christmases past.
While most of us are familiar with the cult classic, many may not know the tragic way in which the director of Christmas Story, Bob Clark, died He was killed by an illegal alien drunk driver.
On April 4, 2007, as the 65-year-old director traveled along Pacific Coast Highway with his son, Ariel Hanrath-Clark, 22, an SUV veered into oncoming traffic and resulted in a head-on collision with Clarks vehicle. Both father and son died at the scene.
The driver of that SUV was Hector Velazquez-Nava, a Mexican national living in Los Angeles. He had 0.24 blood-alcohol levelthree times the legal limit.
The illegal alien had no drivers license and had a prior conviction for solicitation of a prostitute in Los Angeles, in 2004. For that conviction, Velazquez-Nava was sentenced to 24 months probation and a $1,500 fine. Of course, Los Angeles does not report illegal aliens to federal authorities unless they are arrested for a major crime.
On October 16, 2007, Hector Velazquez-Nava was sentenced to six years in prison after pleading no contest on two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. He is supposed to be deported once his sentence is completed.
It is important that all of us understand the devastating impact that illegal immigration is having on this country, and particularly upon those families who have lost loved ones due to the criminal actions of illegal aliens. It is equally important to understand that the lawmakers and various public officials whose inaction in removing those illegal aliens, are every bit as responsible for those deaths as the illegal aliens who get behind the wheel drunk everyday in this country.
As you and yours enjoy that Christmas classic this year, think about the man who brought you that movie and his broken family.
How many Americans have to die before we end this ongoing tragedy?
Lets not clutter up the Holidays with uncomfortable government caused tragedy and chaos...
Would you feel that way if it was your family members that were killed? My bet is no,no you would not.
PING
Let’s not forget the waiflike indie actress Adrienne Shelley who was murdered in 2006 by an illegal working in the apartment next to her who went into a murderous rage when she complained about the noise.
In all likelihood, this was meant ironically. In fact, I feel sure of it. That’s the irony of irony.
Vehicular homicide happened April 4, 2007
The illegal alien was arrested...
October 16, 2007...the court case...the illegal alien had been in prison already 6 months...
Since he got 6 years and has already served nearly 4, he will probably get out soon...time off for good behavior etc
Then what ???
Sorry to put it so bluntly, but many, many more Americans are going to have to die here. Because the Mexicans and liberals in power in Calif just see it as collateral damage to what they want to accomplish.
I sure hope so.
Back to drinking and driving would be my guess.Of course after he returns to the US after being deported.
It's already happening all over the nation. The liberals in power need voters, albeit illegal ones, dead one, pedophiles, rapists, drunks. They feign "compassion" as rationale for their pro-illegal stance, but by the same token, have absolutely NO compassion for American victims who would have been protected had they enforced existing immigration laws.
Previously deported illegal alien sentenced in fatal DUI crash
Snips: December 10th, 2010 -Last week, Cesar Acosta-Castillo, 32, was sentenced to 12 years in prison, after pleading guilty to vehicular homicide in the death of 42-year-old Leah Miller.
Denver District Court Judge McGahey called the Mexican national a "time bomb," before giving him the maximum sentence allowed under the law.
On Sept. 9, 2009, Acosta-Castillo slammed his truck into a car near Monaco Parkway and 22nd Avenue, but kept driving. He then crashed into another vehicle, driven by Leah Miller who died on the scene.
Miller left behind a teenage son, Sheldon who spoke at Acosta-Castillos sentencing, telling the judge: She will never see my graduation... She will never see me have a family.
I myself experienced a very much reduced version of this problem about eight years ago in the parking lot of a local mall. It was winter and there had been a big snow so there were piles of it around that obscured ones vision. I was pulling on to a perimeter driveway from one of the parking aisles when I saw a car flying towards me. It still had some distance but it didn’t seem to be slowing down. It dawned on me that it was going to hit me, which it did in a glancing blow to my left rear. The other driver was non english speaking and was an employee of a food store in the mall. His supervisor or somebody appeared along with some friends of his and I think somebody asked me if I wanted to call the police and I said yes. The cop was a young woman who said to me, “You’re lucky this wasn’t on a public road,” because I was the one that pulled out in front of him, you see. While I was standing there, I watched cars moving along the parking lot drive at a creeping pace, and stopping for other cars within a few feet. To this day, I can’t fathom how this guy hit me. Maybe his brakes didn’t work or something. It was just very “alien” to me. When my insurance agent called, I told him that the other guy was going too fast, and he said that didn’t matter, but then when I told him it was in a parking lot, he abruptly terminated the conversation, it seemed in my favor, and I think that it was a “no fault” call.
But you won't see me complaining that those crusty shops are closing up. And Pruitt's Furniture shop, which was the target of a La Raza boycott a few years ago because they asked Sheriff Joe to keep the "day laborers" off their property, is still in business.
I LOVE this movie. It’s one of my all-time favorites.

A friend of ours was hit on a major street in a large city. Several non-English speaking people exited the vehicle and ran in all directions, abandoning the wrecked vehicle, leaving our friend with his wrecked vehicle and the empty wrecked car that caused the accident running the traffic signal.
It would be interesting to see how many auto accidents are caused by illegal aliens and the cost burden (uninsured motorist) added to our insurance premiums.
