It appears there are 39 votes against cloture, and 12 uncommitted votes.

We need 2 additional NO votes from 4 Republicans (Collins, LeMmieux, Murkowski, Snowe) and/or 8 Democrats (Baucus, Conrad, Dorgan, Hagan, Landrieu, Manchin, McCaskill, Stabenow).

Snowe and Lemieux have indicated they are leaning to NO but their votes are not considered firm by NumbersUSA.

2 Republicans are committed to YES - Lugar and Bennett. 3 Democrats are committed to NO - Ben Nelson, Tester and Pryor.

I’ve heard from a pretty good source that Snowe is actually pretty firmly a no. Unless something changes (like enough on the other side to make it meaningless) she is expect to just say no. If there is some sort of mass defection, she may go with it, but not if she is the “decider” vote.

Since he began his campaign and getting elected Scott Brown has been clear and consistent against amnesty for illegal aliens, he is a principled senator.

B-B-But.......he’s a RINO!!! We can’t support him!! We need to purify the party, even if that means a Democrat will win his seat in 2012 and be in place for the next generation in Massachusetts!!

Why in the world would any Republican allow anything to pass in this session, after the voters have spoken and the cavalry is on the way? It doesn’t make any sense. Run out the clock, you RINO morons.

“Sen. Scott Brown says he will not support the DREAM Act and called the bill aimed helping illegal immigrant college students ‘backdoor amnesty’.”

Wow. I thought Brown would fold like a cheap suit on this.

Maybe there is hope to stop it after all. I’ve been praying that this would be halted somehow, but have been getting more pessimistic with spaghetti spines like Lugar tripping over themselves to vote for amnesty.

Either these idiots are for it or they’re against it. Don’t they even know where they stand on the issue? Enough drama and deal making. VOTE - YES OR NO.
