Daily Kos hates Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, and now they have even more reason to trash him, thank God. This is what DK wrote on June 8, 2010 about the Attorney Generals fight against the part of the healthcare law that forces people to buy insurance:
Commerce clause, taxation without representation, whatever. The colonists were pissed. About tea, or something. The teabaggers are pissed. Not about tea, but they want to be like the colonists, so the Boston Tea Party must be somehow applicable to the new health insurance law. Hell, it works for Boehner and Cantor, et al.
I dont whats scarier: that Cuccinelli is the chief legal officer for Virginia or that the Republican House leadership are actually in a position to make federal law.
Today, six months later, Cuccinelli emailed his supporters and the pissed off teabaggers this message:
Dear Defender of Liberty,Today, a federal judge in Richmond ruled the individual mandate of the federal health care law UNCONSTITUTIONAL! In other words we won! This wont be the final round, as this will ultimately be decided by the Supreme Court, but today is a critical milestone in the protection of the Constitution.

Please thank Mr. Cuccinelli for me. (Descendent of 2nd crossing Jamestowne settler — 1608.)
My daughter, son in law, and 2 grandchildren live in Glen Allen. I would move there in a minute, if I could, but I am tied to a struggling business in snowy Wisconsin. I’m going there for Christmas.
My family has deep roots in VA, although we have lived elsewhere for 11 generations. (All over elsewhere!)
May God bless those who fight in defense of liberty and for freedom from government tyranny.
BTW, Patrick Henry made his last speech and public appearance in Charlotte Courthouse, nearby my ancestral plantation. They say that thousands came from miles around to enjoy his renowned oratory. I’ve forgotten the details, but I think that he died before he could take office. I think he was running for Congress.
Charlotte Courthouse is a little town in the far southwest of VA.
I will add your thanks among the scores of others that I’ve been asked to deliver. I know he appreciates it.
