I have been up since 3 a.m. I thought the headline read, “It’s over: Bret Favre decapitated...”

The ultimate insult to Lions fans, the hated Vikings playing a "home" game in their house.

I’m surprised they don’t wheel him out for the first series of the next three games, just so he can be listed as the “starter.”

Time for all to tip their cap to an athletic Ironman. He handled the last few years poorly in his on again off again retirement, but proved in 2009 that he is still an elite. He finished second for MVP. Hopefully we’ll see him in their at least one more time before the end of the year.

Now we know for sure he’ll retire. No more streak to fluff. I said 4 years ago the year in which he finally missed a game would be his last.

Like many before him, he clung to his youth, but he did play in 297 straight games in a league that all others average career length is 70 games total.

297 games, a record that will stand for a very long time. Congratulations to Brett Favre on an unbeatable record and a nice career.

What this means is a big storm. What I mean by that is that on October 27, 1991, the "perfect storm" formed off the Atlantic coastline. This was later made into a movie but even at the time, it was a pretty big storm. It was also the day that Brett Favre started his NFL streak.
So now that Favre is not playing NFL football anymore, look for another big storm to hit.
