Senate one (Scott Brown) vote from passing dream act

The US Senate is reportedly one vote away from passing cloture for the so-called DREAM Act, which would allow a path towards citizenship for millions of illegals if the attend colleges or serve in the military.

The bill passed the House during a late-night session last week with a vote of 216-198. It was then shelved by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid after Republicans threatened to filibuster any legislation not related to the Bush tax cuts.

It is believed the single vote belongs to Massachusetts Republican Scott Brown, who has disappointed many in the GOP with his RINO-like votes since getting into office. The Associated Press reports a coalition of left-wing educators, religious leaders and advocates are making last-ditch efforts to pressure Brown into voting for the legislation.

The bill also contains the line allowing Janet Napolitano to arbitrarily waive any and all provisions and grant mass Amnesty to about every illegal alien in America if she or her successor wants to:

Grass-roots conservatives were stunned to hear former House Speaker Newt Gingrich support the two main tenants of the DREAM Act during an interview on the Laura Ingraham Show at the beginning of the month.

The story is being under-reported or being ignored by not only the mainstream media but conservative outlets as well, as focus on the Wikileaks Cablegate scandal and political drama surrounding the Bush tax cuts takes center stage.

Are these Senators Americans?

Nope most are citizens of the world, ready to establish the New World Order that daddy Bush promised.

So you think your only choice is to vote for the socialist named Republican or the socialist named Democrat? Sometimes I decide to reject both because they are the same crappy thing.

To answer my own question... Scott Brown is up for re-election in 2012. If he doesn’t clean up his act, he will lose a primary to a more Conservative challenger, even in the Massachusetts Republican Party.

No he will not have a GOP challenger in the primary. He will be waxed by any Dem challenger in '12 however. The Machine is PISSED they lost that seat. They won't lose it again....

I agree. We should not be in this state of affairs to begin with.

As for Scott Brown, why aren’t people blasting Lugar with emails and calls? Brownback’s got a new job so no use harrassing him, but the others? Let’s fire on them?

Blasting Lugar might show the other RINOs what’s in store if they step over the line (again).

When will we all learn that Rinos are a liability...not an asset!

They are counterproductive and insidious.

It's amazing to see all you “conservatives” coming here to slander Republicans when the issue is stopping the Dream act and deporting illegals.

If illegals aren't deported there will never be another conservative elected ever. That is the issue not how bad you think Republicans are. At most 2 Republican Senators will vote for this Dream act if any do at all and for that you blame Republicans but not democrats where the numbers are reversed. Give me a break. Still have to call them all but it's not a done deal yet.

You diogenisis,Democrats have overwhelming numbers in the house 40+ more seats. There is no way Republicans could stop this in the House. what is the vote breakdown or do you just want to slander Republican.

Brown says he won't vote for Dream act.

Lisa Murkowski is another RINO who should never have been elected. I don’t understand how Republicans let her happen after she lost the primary fair and square.

Seven Republicans voted for the DREAM Act in 2007: Bob Bennett (R-UT), Sam Brownback (R-KS), Susan Collins (R-ME), Orrin Hatch (R-UT), Kay Bailey Hutchinson (R-TX), Richard Lugar (R-IN), and Olympia Snowe (R-ME).

This is going to be the “stealth” legislation that gets passed on Christmas Eve by the sneaks in the Whitehouse.

Yes Rush, Hannity,Drudge etc. have not covered this at all.
That is criminal . This Dream act will destroy America if democrats pass it.

The most important issue is deporting illegals.

If illegals are not deported then no conservative will ever be elected again. Rush , drudge etc. don't care about America just making money.

Yep. Indiana has no good excuse for allowing this senator to carry this position.

I couldn't have said it better myself. There is no excuse for them not covering this. Their collective silence is deafening.

I am aware of are Michelle Malkin, NUMBERSUSA and Team America (Tom Tancredo/Bay Buchanan) reporting on this. I'm not aware of ANY major national talk show host talking about this at all. Imagine Rush, Hannity, Levin, Beck or others spending even just a few minutes of air time telling people to call the Senate and oppose the DREAM Act. They could shut down the Capitol Phone System with a little effort on their part.

There are topics and then, there are topics. Hands off this, hands off Article II eligibility, etc. It is simply a disgrace that the GOP's major political philosophers are entertainers first.

Thy entertain an audience that already believes in what they seem to espouse. Preaching to the choir is always good business.

BTW, they are very good at what they do, realize their own power, and keep it withing prescribed boundaries.
