New group hopes to emphasize non-partisan solutions

Washington (CNN) -- New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, an Independent, joins several leading Democrats, Republicans and other Independent political leaders in the launch of a new group that hopes to find non-partisan solutions to some of the nation's problems and to impact the next Congressional session.

The organization, known as No Labels, kicked off Monday in New York with a series of panels discussing some key political problems in America, such as hyper-partisanship and electoral reform. During the day the group's leaders and speakers explore how it can help find common ground to help solve those and other issues.

Besides Bloomberg, among those participating in the kick-off: Sens. Evan Bayh, D-Indiana; Kirsten Gillibrand, D-New York; Joe Manchin, D-West Virginia; Joe Lieberman, I-Connecticut; Reps. Mike Castle, R-Delaware and Bob Inglis, R-South Carolina; former Republican congressman Tom Davis and Republican Florida Governor Charlie Crist, who ran for Senate this year as an Independent.

Later in the day during the kick-off event Bloomberg is expected to speak about non-partisan redistricting.

"Parties have a place, but party loyalty, I don't think, should get in the way of doing what you as an elected official believes what's right. I think that's what most of the public wants," Bloomberg told NBC's Meet the Press Sunday.

I'm going to take a wild stab at their non-partisan positions on some important issues:

Raise taxes, increase government payrolls, free abortions, amnesty for illegals, more money for schools, more money for green technology, and less money for Defense.

These are the sorts of mainstream, centrist positions that I expect the media to get enthusiastic about. [/s]

Although if they want to try a new solution that neither the Democrats nor the Republicans have tried over the past decade, they could propose reducing spending . . . . . .

Good. This is evidence that we are forcing the RINOS into third-party status as conservatives continue to take our party back to its roots. The evidence is already showing that this will take more than one election.

I saw this garbage talked about on FoxNews last night. Why do we need a new political group to fight for compromise when we have the RINO Republican party? However, if we can off-load all the RINOs into a new political party, all the better. Maybe they can call it the ‘useful idiot’s party”! I’m just sayin’

This “movement” is going to last just as long as it takes for their agenda items to emerge. Then Rush or GB will take care of them, which will result in another wave of “end right-wing radio” mania on the part of the left wingers. Pfft.

Mayor Bloomberg is anti-Tea Party and blamed the Times Square bomb plot on a white middle-aged opponent to Obamacare.

Screw this Billion dollar Marxist.

A lot of communists/socialists and rinos in this group. Shouldn’t they be kissing Pelosi’s ass or something?

This is just a shield for Lib Rat politicians. They will hang out with some worthless RINOS and say they all want to get along and then turn around and vote Socialist. This phony ploy will fool no one and dissolve within the year.

CNN fluffs it, therefore it is bad.

Offload the RINOs in the Democrat Party they belonged in. And run the Red Diaper Doper Baby socialists OUT of the DNC and into the Socialist Workers' Party, International Green (Reds) Party, Communist Party USA, Socialist Party, Worker's World Party, et al. Those Commies have NOTHING in common with Thomas Jefferson and are unworthy of the moniker "Democrat".

Why do I suspect their “non-partisan solutions” will be direct copy / mirror images of every liberal talking point there is.

I agree. There is/will be a full-scale MSM push to define this as the more "mainstream" movement. This will allow them to paint the tea party as the more "radical" out of the mainstream movement that doesn't represent what Americans really want....compromise (in their opinion).

(the Tea Party is gonna beat ya to it though.....it looks as if thanks to John Boehner & Co. we are gonna have a four-way race)
