White House adviser and Secretary of State Henry Kissinger once told President Richard Nixon, "And if they put Jews into gas chambers in the Soviet Union, it is not an American concern. Maybe a humanitarian concern,” according to newly-released tapes from the Nixon library.
The shocking statement from Kissinger, a Jew, was followed up by an agreement from Nixon, who said, "I know. We can't blow up the world because of it."
Kissinger also advised Nixon when he was president during the campaign to free the Jews from the Soviet Union, “The emigration of Jews from the Soviet Union is not an objective of American foreign policy.
The shocking statements contradict an image among some American Jews that Nixon was a friend of Israel and the Jews.
Nixon also is quoted as saying an anti-Semitic generalization, “What it is, is it's the insecurity. It’s the latent insecurity. Most Jewish people are insecure. And that's why they have to prove things."
The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg, a usually constant critic of Israel, responded on his blog, "I suppose he [Nixon] is right, at least on the narrow subject of Henry Kissinger.”
The conversations that were recorded on secret tapes followed a March 1973 meeting between Nixon and Kissinger with former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir, who pleaded with the United States to help open the barred gates for millions of oppressed Soviet Jews, denied religious freedom, wanting to flee the Communist regime. Eventually, the freedom for Soviet Jews campaign broke the ban in later administrations and allowed massive immigration of Jews to Israel as well as to the United States.
Nixon’s disgust with minorities was not restricted to Jews. He labeled Irishmen as drinkers and Italians as “wonderful” people but who “don't have their heads screwed on tight.”

Nope. The article seems to suggest that Israel wants to obtain Tritium extraction tech from India, and not the other way around.
India developed a highly efficient process for the process of extraction of tritium from Heavy Water (deuterium), sometime in the late 80s. Tritium is used in the production of boosted fission weapons. Which is what the article says they want to produce for anti tank and other purposes.

Paki media at that time claimed that three of the low-yield devices which were tested were of Israeli origin given that they had more pressing requirements and said that the whole thing was a Jewish-Hindu project. I clearly remember hearing reports on that-not many sources on line.
Nixon’s support for Israel in October 1973 actually dangerously denuded U.S. defenses in one important area: our stockpile of air-to-air missiles, located at Warner Robins AFB, was stripped of almost all AIM-7 and AIM-9 missiles. As a then-second lieutenant, I saw unmarked El Al airlines 747 cargo aircraft come in and take them all. If we had had to suddenly go to war in Europe, we would have had only the air-to-air missiles in forward locations in Germany, which surely would not have been enough...
If Nixon ran for any office today, given his support for expanding the role and powers of the federal government... I have no doubt he would run as a democrat.
Remember, he won in a time when Republicans were a fraction of their current strength.

Nixon has “several” such very teeny tiny minorities among his forebears ~ probably including NORWEGIAN Dwarves. Frankly, the Basques are just too numerous for them to get in on any of this “smallest minority” stuff.

This sounds like one of those "program seminar people" arguments ~ the old "I was a Republican until so and so won".
No, that's not how it works. NO SANE PERSON would give up being a Republican just so he could vote for a Democrat.
Besides, Nixon wasn't known as "the great anti-semite", he was known as "the great anti-communist", and until quite recently, historically speaking, being a commie wasn't all that big a problem with many Jewish people, so if they wanted to be soft on communism and hate Nixon because he wasn't, that is more a Jewish problem than a Nixon problem (taking that Kissinger thing and flipping it to Helen Gahagan Douglas).
Next time you're at the Nixon Library stop by that little exhibit where there's this Democrat campaign flyer prepared by Douglas forces that accuses Nixon of voting against NATIONAL DEFENSE.
That, right there, is when Nixon picked up one of Douglas' earlier opponents claims that she was "pink right down to her panties".
It worked. He got 59% of the vote.

The tapes having been public for many years now, my reaction is as it always is, how stupid was Nixon. Tapes, well OK, I have a bad memory and they'd be handy writing memoirs, but he knew there was a fireplace in the White House, why did they survive.
I think Kissinger was just screwing around with Nixon here. Seeing who could be more outrageous. Maybe both were drinking.... Nixon was at the end of his presidency. No matter....One way or another the Nixon crew came through for Israel in the 1973 Yom Kippur war
“It was the Yom Kippur war (1973). Nixon stripped weapons and ammo stocks from National Guard and Reserve units sent them to Isreal at the most critical time. Israel was running out of ammo and weapons just as they were stemming the tide of the Syrian and Egyptian advances. I remember seeing convoys of tnaks and mobile 155mm howitzers going down highway 101 to Vandenberg AFB where they were being flown to Isreal and driven off of transports and straight to battle.”
And not only did the weapons come in perfect condition, there were things like notes that said “this plane veers right when XYZ happens” and very specific directions.
Lots of recitiations of Exodus and G-d’s promise to Abraham written in magic marker on shells or whatever.
Pictures are in every “junior high” (grade when you are 13) history book.
Israel WILL NEVER FORGET who helped.
I have reached the conclusion that these individuals are about to implement the next stage of the Nazi plan. These individuals have been playing sleight of hand with us for far longer than we know. They are in possession of weapons for which no defense exists. Only G-d can save us now.
Richard Nixon was a good man and a friend to Israel.
Sure he had some flaws... don’t we all?
