TLC and why Palin will never be president -- part 2
Last week I wrote a piece pegged to tonight's TLC pairing of Kate Gosselin and Sarah Palin on Palin's "Alaska" reality TV series.
The core of my commentary was that Palin will never be president because she has sold herself too cheap to low-rent reality-TV venues like TLC, and now she is being perceived as another one of the channel's freak moms like Kate Gosselin or the women on the series "I Didn't Know I was Pregant." As the title so coyly suggests, that shows features women who gave birth and claim they didn't know ther were pregant. You can also now lump Palin in with the twisted stage moms of "Toddlers & Tiaras," a show that sexualizes little girls, and the women of "Sister Wives," TLC's celebration of polygamy.

Palin has been reduced to the level of Gosselin by allowing herself to become part of the debased TLC stable of "stars."
Was it really worth a million dollars for Palin to allow herself to be associated with the rest of the folks on this freak show reality-TV channel? Either way, this is the kind of thing that will keep her from ever being president.
Yes,Sarah, Ronald Reagan did have a TV career, too. But it was never with bottom-feeding programs like this.

Among other things, we're talking about her. And she didn't buy advertising to be on our minds and a topic for discussion, she is being paid.
In fact, when I do actually pay attention and read or hear what she has to say, more often than not, shallow thinker that I am, I strongly agree.
That is a result I didn't expect and I wonder if others have the same reaction. Clearly, liberals do not.

The only ones to whom this “perception” of Palin is true, due to her TLC stint, is in the minds of those trying to sell that perception to everyone else.

That only makes it more puzzling about how your mind works, and it still doesn't explain how you could hate the conservative frontrunner so much that you will go "third party", if that conservative beats out the other frontrunners, Mitt Romney, and Mike Huckabee.

According to Romneyfacts.com, a Mr. Matt Braynard, a "consultant" representing the Matt Braynard Group, Inc. from Arlington, VA, gave a $2,300 contribution to Mitt Romney on Aug. 29, 2007.

That Sue Aikens is an incredible woman. I could not possibly do what she does. She seems strong, confident and at peace, though she did shed a few tears at her friends leaving and the realization she would be totally alone for six months.
I’ve never compared Sarah with Reagan, altho I think she shares some of his qualities.
She’s accomplished energizing conservatives all over the country. She made a huge and vital contribution to getting conservatives elected to the House which will make a huge difference in the next two years.
She’s given hope to once apathetic conservatives that we can do something, and we have.
She has liberal heads spinning like Regan in the Exorcist==that alone is worth something.
She’s advanced her positions using the new media and it is working. She’s fought for drilling in the U.S. and in Alaska. Her show was a vivid reminder that most of Alaska is a barren wasteland (not a scenic resort as Jimmy Carter said it was - the old fool) Nothing would be harmed by drilling there, even the wackiest environmentalist would have to agree.
She’s obviously inspired followers to the point that many of us will not only vote for her but will work for her.
Can you name any one, two or three term governors who have accomplished all that?
