the Belle had problems with its thrusters.I couldn't imagine why the captain would have taken it out with such bad weather but I seen now that it was a mechanical problem.

Trying to do anything “Christmassy” in December, traveling anyplace that is, is chancy. We drove 20 miles or so last night to a Christmas craft fair and tried to drive around and see the Christmas lights, but it was raining cats and dogs with a promise of snow later in the night. Well, it was sort of an adventure, but a bit silly for two old coots like us to be out schlepping around in the cold rain. We ate at a pizza place, which was warm and cozy.
