The wind was so strong Saturday night it blew the Showboat Branson Belle aground during its cruise with guests onboard.

The Belle and local authorities tell KY3 there's no serious injuries and only three people requested medical assistance as a precaution.

A passenger told KY3 over the phone Saturday night, most of the 567 passengers are calm but some are panicking.

The passenger also says the captain announced it's not safe to evacuate the boat where they came aground. He said the rocky shoreline is covered in ice. Fire crews are trying to create a gameplan but the captain announced guests might be onboard throughout the night.

the Belle had problems with its thrusters.

I couldn't imagine why the captain would have taken it out with such bad weather but I seen now that it was a mechanical problem.

Trying to do anything “Christmassy” in December, traveling anyplace that is, is chancy. We drove 20 miles or so last night to a Christmas craft fair and tried to drive around and see the Christmas lights, but it was raining cats and dogs with a promise of snow later in the night. Well, it was sort of an adventure, but a bit silly for two old coots like us to be out schlepping around in the cold rain. We ate at a pizza place, which was warm and cozy.

ooo YA there is GOOD fishing there...but DONT tell anyone, our secret...also great hunting, retired here just to hunt raccoons. You can't beat the Ozarks for fishing and hunting. But like i said don't tell anyone. Juat so everyone know's. they raise them real tuff here, no little wind storm or snow or a temp drop of about 30 degrees, well stop our little paddle wheel boat...there's MONEY to be made

My parents lived north of the lake and north of the strip for many years after they retired and before the Branson changed to what it’s become. They loved the place and to have that happen in Table Rock Lake is surprising.

large relativity flat shallow lake with a deep channel of cold water running down the center from Lake Tanneycomo Dam (water released from the depths of the lake behind that dam into the next dam. That way the big bass have cold water to lurk in and broad shallows to feed. Perfect lake to breed some very big bass. Then of course they do stock the lake too.

Rumor has it there is a guy named Gilligan that works on the boat !!!!

They are building a road though the trees and part way out in the water to get to the boat. KY3-TV videos this morning.

Table Rock Lake has been dropping about a foot per week.

My guess is the Corps of Engineers will stop producing power and raise the lake level if need to help get the boat free.

The wind here in KC was terrible last night and is still going strong. I’m sure it was worse east of us in MO.
