White House officials said Friday that they have the 67 Senate votes needed to ratify a new U.S. nuclear-arms accord with Russia, and President Barack Obama will delay his planned vacation in Hawaii until the Senate votes.
The declaration came after Maine's two Republican senators, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, declared their support for the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty

The house can make it more difficult to get other important legislation passed. Especially the pork that some of the senate *ricks want to pass.
Boehner is in the House. The Senate ratifies treaties. McConnell is the one to call. I thought they weren’t going to address anything until after the tax cut extension and funding of the government was settled first.
All funding for these RINOs should be stopped. I wish they would leave the party and declare themselves for what they are, Democrats.
It’s like the GOP wants to destroy itself. On the morning after Obama gets humiliated by Bill Clinton, showing how weak he is even within his own party, our dumbass RINOs are going to give him a victory on a treaty that the Russians have no compelling reason to actually follow.
In my opinion, all of them need to be called 24/7 until they get the message and until we get them out. Thank you for the clarification on treaties, however, the House and Senate are both filled with spineless, gutless, power-hungry Elitists.
House, Senate, all of them!
“Its like the GOP wants to destroy itself. “
After Murkowski and most of other senate 2010 results they don’t fear us. They assume a strong anti obama turnout in 2012 and don’t feel any need to deviate from business as usual. We must put our money behind true conservatives and primary the RINOs in red states in 2012.
US approval a step toward Russian company control of Wyoming uranium mines

CHEYENNE, Wyo. - Two uranium mines in Wyoming are on their way to control by a Russian company now that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission has approved transferring the mines’ licenses.
The NRC last week approved the license transfer to a Russian company known as ARMZ which expects to obtain a controlling interest in Canadian-owned Uranium One by year’s end. Uranium One holds the licenses for a proposed uranium mine and an existing uranium mine in northeast Wyoming.
The transfer raised concern from Wyoming’s congressional delegation, who said the uranium could in theory go overseas and serve against U.S. interests.
The NRC continues to prohibit exporting the uranium.
People in IN have a lot of clout on this liberal issue. They aren’t nearly as conservative there as their reputation may be.
The problem too is Republican primary voters who are so uninformed that they have no understanding of such treaty sell-outs. They have been uninformed for a generation.
RINOs: selling you out one freedom at a time.
Thank you for your support. :)
Yup- lets cut our defenses. In Russia we trust. Does congress want us to die or we just suckers.
Nothing is going to change with these traitors.
Figure it out folks. The do NOT fear the people. They will never respect us, but we can make them fear us. The question is, is there a non violent way to do it? Beginning to wonder about that.
Because misdirected rage is so funny?

I’d be very curious to know exactly which “treaties” have been passed as federal legislation to bypass the 2/3rds Senate requirement.
Can’t be done, and has never been done, IIRC.
What has happened is that the MSM turned the GOP Senate defeats in seven states, DE, WV, CO, CA, WA, AK, and especially NV as proof that the voters still want Democrats. Republicans aren’t smart enough to convince people otherwise.
What they do is rebrand them as “agreements” instead of as “treaties”; see, e.g., NAFTA.
“Same with McConnell’s DC number. Busy/voicemail full. Disrespectful disregard for We the People.”
Where’s O’Keefe’s fake phone crew w. cameras? ;) The battle lines are drawing with the DC establishment. Problem is we’re fighting socialism at the same time. Dolts!
Perhaps we are arguing over semantics.
NAFTA is not a treaty. As you point out, it is an agreeement
FRom the State Department website:
“What is the difference between a treaty and an executive agreement?
As explained in greater detail in 11 FAM 721.2, there are two procedures under domestic law through which the United States becomes a party to an international agreement. First, international agreements (regardless of their title, designation, or form) whose entry into force with respect to the United States takes place only after two thirds of the U.S. Senate has given its advice and consent under Article II, section 2, Clause 2 of the Constitution are “treaties.” Second, international agreements brought into force with respect to the United States on a constitutional basis other than with the advice and consent of the Senate are “international agreements other than treaties” and are often referred to as “executive agreements.” There are different types of executive agreements.”
FRom USLegal.com: “Usually such agreements include routine diplomatic or military matters, the policing of boundaries and the regulation of fishing rights.”
HST, it is apparent to me that the President can get the US in a lot of trouble if We the People do not pay attention.
It is further evident that we have not been paying attention, and our country has been/is being stolen FRom us.
PS 67 Senators have to vote “Aye” on the Start Treaty for it to become a Treaty.
HST, Obongo Bozo can, through the Congress, implement it unilaterally via the legislative/EO process.
He is a VERY DANGEROUS MAN!
And, his LIEberal/Socialist/Marxist/Fascist hangers-on are VERY DANGEROUS, ALSO!
Hopefully, in 2011 We the People can begin to make some headway against the Obongo Bozo and his cronies.
