Setup Next Week: Cold East, Mild West Here we go again!

Just like last week, we have a storm system which will move from the Midwest to the East Coast over the weekend with a dump of bitter cold air following close behind.

Pictured to the right is the incoming large dip in the jet stream that will follow this storm and setup shop in the East. This will allow temperatures to fall 10 to 30 degrees below average during the weekend and into next week.

It’s been down right chilly in Texas the last few weeks.

More proof that the envirowackos don’t use the entire winter data in their calculations. My calender says that December is still part of 2010. Maybe it’s defective. NASA might want to stick to training muzzies how to feel good about themselves.

No way. Our electric bill was nowhere near what it's been some years. I remember one year, summer 1980 I think, that I had to sit in front of the opened fridge with a wet towel wrapped around me to keep from having a heat stroke.

“I remember one year, summer 1980 I think,”

I think you are right.
I was living in the country, with my house in the woods, east of Memphis.
Daytime temps got up to 106, and a few nights never went below 100.
I do not, however, remember how the summer averaged out.

White Christmas time!

I suppose that all depends where you are on the map. Looking at 84 degrees tomorrow. That would be the part that says WARM!

.

Might wash my car...who knows...maybe throw the doors open and lounge around...put up a few more strings of Christmas lights.

Another Dose of Frigid Air (Global Warming gone wild)

“D-mn this global warming and all the pain and suffering it causes!”

My sloppy paraphrase of a theatrical phrase I heard many moons ago.
(Except it was “D-mn this war and all the suffering and pain it causes.”
I vaguely think it may have been spoken by the late, great Charleton Heston.)

Was just reading this AP article where NASA claims 2010 hottest year on record:

Here in Mid-Missouri we had one month of unrelenting HOT and HUMID
days. It was not pleasant, but...

Now we’re shivering and going to the single digits overnight
and already have had some days with sub-freezing highs.
We’re going to have 7 degrees F on Monday morning.

Global Warming My Large @$$!!!

I have a theory that the decrease in airline traffic due to the suffering world economy means that airfields, where temperatures are traditionally measured, get fewer cooling breezes. I say global temperatures should be measured in cornfields, not airfields.

LOL! Having worked with corn genetics and with cotton in the field
and in greenhouses...
I can say it may be the humidity, not just the oppressive heat, “that gets you”!
