This Was The Worst Day Of Obama's Presidency (the strange handoff)

It will either go down as the day that the Obama officially became a lame duck, or the day that Obama hit the bottom, and had nowhere to go but up.

But either day, it's the worst.

*snip*

The tax deal is falling apart, and on this sinking ship Obama is going down with... the Republicans?

Obviously it took a series of mis-steps to get into it this badly. Negotiating with Mitch McConnell without gauging the temperature of Democrats was idiotic. Beyond that, Obama gave up all his bargaining chips before sitting down.

*snip*

But instead he used that up before this began, without anything in exchange.

And there's your Presidency. No political capital, overshadowed by a former President and by the farthest left member of the Democratic caucus in the Senate.

Video - At Obama's side, Clinton backs tax deal... (bizarre presidential handoff)

Bill Clinton Takes Over Briefing Room. Pres. Obama: ‘I’m going to take off…You’re in good hands"

Excerpt:

Pres. Barack Obama met at the White House today with former President Bill Clinton — the first time since the midterm elections — on how to respond to the big Democratic losses and Obama’s deal with the GOP to extend the Bush era tax cuts.

The White House press corps was “summoned at a moment’s notice” to the briefing room for the news conference. And not long after the two presidents appeared together at 4:23pmET, it became AAB — all about Bill (or Bubba, take your pick).

Even in that pose, Bubba looks more comfortable behind the podium than BO.

Love that picture. Bill’s look is totally, “Yep, he left me large in charge. His bag, though. He can’t walk away from THAT!”

if there’s an entire clip available i would love to see Bill’s body language after the ‘bam left and how Bill finished up this presser. Did he apologize for talking too much? Did he make excuses for the Prez?

Did BO need a teleprompter to introduce him?

Almost daily, any more, Obama is over his head in the presidency.

It sounded good to be president in 2007 and would look good as another entry on his resume.

It is much more difficult than he ever expected, by 2010.

His lack of real-world experience in any executive position is showing.

[We need to keep that in mind when we have another 2 to 3 dozen senators trying to run for 2012. Senators DO NOT make good executives.]

I disagreed with his politics and think he’s an egotistical jerk.

But right now compared to Obama, I’ll take egotistical jerk anyday.
