I don’t think a two term ex-President can serve as VP since he is not eligible to serve as President.

There is nothing in the constitution that prevents it. The understanding would be, that because of the two term limit, he could assume the duties of the VP, but should the President die in office, he would step aside and allow the next person in line of succession to assume the presidency. It is theoretically possible.

That’s not what the 22nd Amendment states. It states that no person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice. If he were to serve as VP, succession would not be by election.

I think that George Soros has a new plan - the old plan isn't working too well right now. Soros has cuddled up with the Clintons now -

Obama has to resign office and turn it over to Biden.

Biden picks Hillary as his VP.

At some convenient time, Biden will have a 'health event' that will cause VP Hillary to assume the presidency.

Soros is probably kicking himself that he went with Obama instead of Hillary in the first place.

Correct. One cannot serve as VP unless they are eligible to be President.

We discussed this for more than a year here in 2004.

You are right about the INTENT of XXII, but the WORDS forbid being ELECTED more than twice.

The amendment is very poorly drafted. It does not redefine “eligibility” and it does not bar attaining the office other than by election.
