Bolivia blames capitalism

Mexico: Bolivian President Evo Morales said capitalism was responsible for climate change in his speech at the Climate Change Summit Thursday and he insisted on the need for the developed countries to make new commitments to reduce their greenhouse effect gas emissions.

“We are sometimes debating only the effects of global warming, and not the causes, and we should be responsible and debate those causes,” said the Bolivian President in the high level segment of the 16th Climatic Change Summit in Cancun.

Morales recalled the responsibility of the Governments so that key decisions are adopted to face global warming.

“Our responsibility, if we want to give peoples of the world a hope, is to cool the planet, to lower the temperature, but each one of us, especially the Presidents, heads of delegations, governments, put yourself in the place of millions and millions of families that are victims of global warming,” he said.

“Powers of the world must pay the ecological debt, but above the ecological debt, it is more important to change the causes of global warming,” he stressed.

Morales said that if the Protocol of Kyoto is sent to a garbage dump, “we will be responsible for a lot of serious mistakes, and therefore of genocides, because we are taking actions that could harm the entire human race.”

The document, approved in the Japanese city of Kyoto in 1997 and not ratified by the United States, includes and approves the objective of reducing greemnhouse gas emissions by 5.2 percent compared to the levels of 1990.

He recalled some agreements of the climate conference of last April in Cochabamba, among them the proposal of creating a tribunal of climatic justice to sanction the nations of the world, transnationals or private individuals or institutions that damage the environment, as well as the organization of a world referendum in 2011 to change the capitalist model of over consumption and over production.

He also recalled that, under the sponsorship of the United Nations, the declarations of human rights and of indigenous communities were fostered, but the international organization has still to approve the rights of Mother Earth.

A lot of these jealous little countries could better spend their time developing their resources and exploiting them for the benefit of their people. The efforts made to destroy developed countries that have used energy to make better lives will result in nothing but the decline of all civilization. Let the globalist warmers freeze, and save the world.

Evo is an indigenous and sees himself as the savior thereof. He really has a thing against Europeans, and Spaniards most of all because of the treatment "his" people received at their hands. He has alienated entire regions of his country where the people are not Indian, but rather european, to the point that they are threatening to separate. His detestation for capitalism stems from his hate of Europeans. He also has an idealized vision of what it was like there before the Spaniards arrived, a vision that overlooks thinks like human sacrifice, famine and wars of aggression among the natives.

I don't know what you are saying about the moorish invasion of Spain, because the Spaniards re-conquered the last moorish outpost in Spain in 1492. There are millions of people with pure or nearly pure Spanish blood in Latin America today, and a lot of the are in Mexico. You rarely see them here because they are not the poorest of the poor and don't, as a rule, immigrate. There are also many Spaniards in Mexico who came to the New World to escape the Spanish Civil War.

One aspect of the Latino problem is the traditional hatred of mestizos (ladinos) for the Indians of the country. This has caused bloodshed that has led to the death of millions over the last five centuries. (And it accounts for Evos’s large chip-on-the-shoulder.)

In fact, there is only a very small stratum of European-Latinos in most Latin nations; perhaps the largest being the Italian colony in Argentina. In their case, the recent migration of Italians leaving Argentina and returning to Italy greatly outnumbers the Italians foolish enough to immigrate to Argentina.

Well, Evo, how are your people doing?
Feel free to apply anything in the Kyoto protocols to yourself and to your people.
But if you need to rob other countries in the process, you'll have to do it the old-fasioned way: raise an army and have at it!

Thereby proving that he and others like him are the greatest threat to humanity.

They have some improvements over 19th century peasants. And what little they do have, they owe to free market “capitalism”

Actually, Bolivia has never actually seen a free market, merely a distorted version of capitalist cronyism. Before the commie took over, they were hardly the shiny face of a free market at work. The commie basically took a bad system and made it worse.

No, but the rest of the world benefits from the functioning economy in America and other places. After the Reagan/Thatcher revolution of the 80s, the per capita consumption of meat in the 3rd world went up by about 5x.
