Wow. Jabbed with a stick while inside the vehicle? That means if the perp had been armed (with a real weapon ...even a sharpened stick rathet than a blunt one) he could have potentially killed her. I do not know the background details here, but I thought the royals had better protection than appears to be the case here. Particularly since Charles was there.

I read that they got separated from their entourage.

Seem to remember an incident where someone was jabbed with an umbrella as he walked down the street and then went on to die from ricin poisoning a few days later.

And notice how the article says that armed officers were still seconds away from even pulling out their firearms? Amazing that you can assault the Royals and get away with it over there.

My question is "what were they thinking?" Did someone direction them to drive there or did chuck think he was so beloved he'd be greeted with open arms?

They should not have been there at all. Perhaps his mother gave them directions home?

Pointed sticks? Ho, ho, ho. We want to learn how to defend ourselves against pointed sticks, do we? Getting all high and mighty, eh? Fresh fruit not good enough for you eh? Well I’ll tell you something my lad. When you’re walking home tonight and some great homicidal maniac comes after you with a bunch of loganberries, don’t come crying to me!

I am unimpressed with police in this stormy situation. A few well placed high pressure water hoses on a very cold day would have saved a lot of trouble. Hose them into the gutter. Common sense seems to be lacking.

Rolling the window up themselves is obviously beneath their station.

That's a job for an underling.

Someone will be disciplined for not rolling the window up.

Bet on it.
