One Nation Under God
Newsweek ^ | Dec. 9, 2010 | Lisa Miller

On Nov. 30, about a dozen moderate Christian leaders gathered for a meeting in Washington, D.C. Their colleagues on the religious right had been delivering a potent new message about God and country, of fear and domination, that was resonating among Christians and conservatives nationwide. Among those assembled last month were Jim Wallis, who has advised President Obama on matters of faith and politics; Joel Hunter, pastor of Northland church in Orlando, who has been an outspoken critic of public incivility; and Tony Campolo, a sociologist, pastor, and confidant of President Bill Clinton. Their purpose was tactical and forward-looking: how to use their broad communications networks to articulate a vision of Christianity that will counter a new—and newly powerful—religious-right rhetoric in advance of the 2012 election.

You can tell from this first paragraph that this gal is a lefty loon. Anybody who describes Jim Wallis as a "moderate" is just plain nuts.

Christianity is the ideology which gave us individualism and dignity to everyone, even the weakest and oldest. It elevated women (because of the importance placed on Mary) and it ended slavery in the Western World.

It makes Capitalism work because of the Ten Commandments which Christians are commanded to obey. It creates a moral and just and trusting place.

Destroy Christianity and you destroy the order, the trust, and economics. Although we were not perfect (nobody can be), we were better than any other culture for all—even minorities who saw rights and advantages that they would NEVER have in any other culture.

Cultural Marxists knew to take down the Natural Family (destroy the thinking and emotional health of children) and destroy the one religion that is the most inclusive in all of history and is based on reason and logic through the brilliance of people like Thomas Aquinas.

Marxists hate logic and reason. They build their thinking on the “evolution” of the laws of nature. A big fraud!

Christians know that the nature of man never changes and our Founders understood that and it is why our rights come from God—the Christian God.

No doubt the Arch-Druid of Canterbury sent his warmest comradely regards.

I used to respect Tony Campolo. I have several of his trade mark sermons, such as “THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS A PARTY,” somewhere in my boxes of old cassettes. I even gave him a pass when he was Slick Willie’s spiritual advisor. If you ever heard the above message you would see how it fits with Clinton’s modus operandi. So riding herd on Willie would make at least a little sense.

But if he has now been meeting of his own free will with these enemies of our Constitution; that frosts it for me! Tony is no spring chicken any more. He’s getting pretty long in the tooth. Maybe his elevator no longer goes all the way to the top!

I remember hearing Campolo speak in a Chicago church in 1981. He said some pretty good challenging things. But as I look back on it now, I can see that some of the things that he said could have had different meanings. He has gone far beyond challenging Christians to share their wealth, to now forcing everyone to share their wealth. That is not biblical.
