That was always a favorite talking point of Golden Eagle quite a while back, (now aren't you ashamed) and my response back then was yeah, Linus and Richard may have some wacky ideas, (RMS to the extreme) but the difference is that my using their product doesn't mean that my money is going towards defeating conservatives, unlike Microsoft (and Apple) customers. ;-) My point is that anything you buy, once your money leaves your hands, you have no control over what is done with it. You can try to research the stances of the companies, but it is a losing conceit. Control what you have and do with your money and contributions. Don't cut off your nose to spite your face. Everything in Tech winds up benefiting the ChiComs... so what can you do? Buy something with Microsoft on the label, some of those funds wind up benefiting the Gates who WILL donate it to fund abortions. Buy something with Apple in the name and a LOT smaller amount will wind up in politics because Apple as a corporation does not make large cash contributions and Jobs has not made donations since 2004.
