Ruh roh! It appears that because of reasons surrounding the facts that while Costco has carried iPods and iTunes cards from their retail locations for quite a while now, Apple has never allowed them to sell Apple items on their webpage (like other retailers can) and Costco didnt gain distribution rights for the iPad, Costcos pulling the plug. Costco is said to be the third largest retailer and the largest membership warehouse dealer in the USA. Them stopping sales of Apple products completely is almost certainly going to be a stinger in Apples side.
I don’t use Windows. I bought my computer at Fry’s without on OS and installed Ubuntu on it for free.
I assume then you've equally researched the socialist underpinnings and political motivations of Richard Stallman and Linus Torvald, not to mention the political leanings of the members of the board of directors of whatever companies that manufactured the parts that went into your no-name computer box you got at Fry's before you made your various purchases? ;^)>
Well, I spoke too soon. Skype has an app for the iPod touch
So, not exactly.
That was always a favorite talking point of Golden Eagle quite a while back, (now aren't you ashamed) and my response back then was yeah, Linus and Richard may have some wacky ideas, (RMS to the extreme) but the difference is that my using their product doesn't mean that my money is going towards defeating conservatives, unlike Microsoft (and Apple) customers. ;-)
My point is that anything you buy, once your money leaves your hands, you have no control over what is done with it. You can try to research the stances of the companies, but it is a losing conceit. Control what you have and do with your money and contributions. Don't cut off your nose to spite your face. Everything in Tech winds up benefiting the ChiComs... so what can you do? Buy something with Microsoft on the label, some of those funds wind up benefiting the Gates who WILL donate it to fund abortions. Buy something with Apple in the name and a LOT smaller amount will wind up in politics because Apple as a corporation does not make large cash contributions and Jobs has not made donations since 2004.
Yeah, but you dragged Torvalds and Stallman into that point, and like I said, my using their OS doesn't result in my money funding abortions, global warming propaganda, itunes, Chicoms and other abominations, unlike customers of Microsoft and Apple.
I agree... but that is not the point. Participating in commerce does. It's unavoidable.
