Ruh roh! It appears that because of reasons surrounding the facts that while Costco has carried iPods and iTunes cards from their retail locations for quite a while now, Apple has never allowed them to sell Apple items on their webpage (like other retailers can) and Costco didnt gain distribution rights for the iPad, Costcos pulling the plug. Costco is said to be the third largest retailer and the largest membership warehouse dealer in the USA. Them stopping sales of Apple products completely is almost certainly going to be a stinger in Apples side.
Someone will blink on this.
I have bought at least 4 iPods at Costco for the family.
When I was working in Leon GTO Mexico they spoke better English at the local Costco
Apple sucks anyway. No big loss.
Fat lot of good that did them going into a recession.
There's a "group" there at Apple Headquarters who have a bizzaro worldview that gets perpetuated somehow.
Someone should check the water in Cupertino. Might be something funny in there.
Ya no one buys their stuff for that reason.
Guess that’s why their stock performance is so poor.
FWIW.
Seems you can buy an iPad at Sams. Just not on line.
LOL!
They could have waited a few weeks. I needed to pick up some iTunes cards for Christmas presents.
You say Apple sucks.
Kinda like Yogi Berra saying, “No one goes there anymore because it’s just too crowded.”
Their stock has only gone from 90 to 320 within the last two years, and they’ve sold a kazillion songs and Apps.
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? You’re probably one of those that connects your iTunes to your neanderthal PC.
If you had invested only $1000 in Apple during 2000, today you would have a pocket full of $43,000 in your sucking pocket. How did YOU do?

I completely leapfrogged them when I bought my Fender Android. And I gotta ask, with the proliferation of smart phones, who buys iPods any more? I mean, if not a smart phone, why not one of the must cheaper “off brand” music players. For me now, an iPod would not only be redundant; it would be annoying because all I can do with it is play music.

And then tell me how great Apple is.
Truly a classic movie. And it speaks more of our world today than a lot of people fully grasp.
Oh, and OW! My Balls!
I like both Costco and Apple, but Apple is not easy to work with for a large discount retailer such as Costco. To reach a different market Apple recently made the deal with Walmart to sell their iPad (fair trade price, no discount). But Costco is different, and likely wanted to bundle and do other things to make their Apple offerings more competitive. Also, Costco’s profit margins are very slim for a big box store and therefore volume sales are necessary. It’s hard to sell iPads and laptops with Apple’s requirements for “fair trading” and Costco’s need to sell a lot and still make 10 or 12% on the transactions. All this adds up to a “too bad” for Apple, Costco, and the consumer...
I was 9 years old in most of 2000.
wrong.
Steve is a product genius beyond anyone alive today, but his politics stink.
