Urban Meyer has stepped down as coach of the University of Florida football team.
Meyer resigned one year ago but changed his mind and came back to coach the 2010 season

What’s funny is that when Mullen was OC, the Gator Nation wanted to run him out of town.
I would also be happy with Charlie Strong.
Me Too!
Hey isn’t it about time for Saban to leave Bama...and go to the next stop on his SEC Tour. ;)
Is it the newspaper site or another board?
Meyer knows the answer.
Maybe it will be Jon Gruden.
Thanks for the hope you just gave me. Do you have a Link to that report?
I think too we will know at the presser, in about two hours.
The Tupelo, MS newspaper had part of the interview several days ago about when Mullen was meeting the Gator Bowl people. Was that meeting over the weekend? Think I will go back there to see what they are saying.
It should have happened January 2009.
Fearless prediction: Meyer will take off the 2011 season, get a clean bill of health..then he will be the next coach at Notre Dame, for 2012, after Kelly gets canned..They are already setting up collection plates in every Catholic diocese in the country to fund Urban’s contract..
Bummer that Meyer is stepping down. I am not even a Gator fan, and I have a lot of respect for Meyer...he is an excellent coach who won at Utah and Bowling Green (his two previous jobs)
I think the Gators should go after Charlie Strong. He turned around a Louisville program that was sliding down....and had a bigger arrest record than Meyer ever did (the Meyer “players arrested” total is way overblown...more programs have worse crime records)
Dan Mullen may be a problem....the Cam Newton stuff originated at Miss State with their boosters and staff.
Meyer is one of the best coaches in the history of college football....even though he has been a head coach for only 10 or 11 seasons. He has a many national championships as Joe Paterno and Bobby Bowden
Some are speculating that the Broncos will hire Urban to reunite him with Tebow.
I think he’s done for a few years, he’ll do TV work, then maybe coach Notre Dame.
Just went back there and Mullen’s remark today was, “I am happy at State”.
I don’t know. Was it one person who made the reference or multiple speculation?
On the Paul Finebaum show in Birmingham, they just said that Mullen has already been contacted by Miami. This will be the topic today
But he's thinking "But I'd be even happier at Florida." ;)
I am not a member of that site so I could not read the comments but that was the title of a thread. Mullen is not going anywhere according to the Tupelo,MS newspaper.
