Police continued their search Tuesday for a 12-year-old Roanoke County girl believed taken against her will and whose mother was found dead in their home.
State police issued an Amber Alert for Brittany Mae Smith on Monday.
Roanoke County spokeswoman Teresa Hamilton Hall said Brittany may be with Jeffrey Scott Easley, 32. Police said surveillance video shows Easley and Brittany, a seventh-grader, shopping at a Salem Wal-Mart on Friday night.
Is it me or does this type of crime seem to be becoming more and more common?
Prayers up!
The most terrifying words to a child:mama’s boyfriend is moving in.
Not more common. Always been happnin’! Difference is 24/7 news cycles need to be fed. It keeps the sheeples minds busy with insignificant (except to the families!) crapola while Rome burns...
Right up there with "Mommy and I are getting a divorce"
Our culture is in the sewer. People used to get married forever and God forbid people would be shacking up, especially with children. God save us please.
Prayers going up here too!!!
“Bread and Circuses”
Prayers for this child. That photo sure makes her look to be a lot more than 12 yrs old.............
It may not be the photo that’s making her look older. 12 year old girls didn’t used to wear lipstick, eye-liner and put highlights in their hair. Unfortunately this makes her all the more appealing to perverts.
I suppose it has ever been thus--each generation reaches the point when they decide that the world is going to hell in a handbasket--and I'm there! LOL!
Rumor is that the girl killed the mom when she found out about the girl’s relationship with the 32 year-old mom’s boyfriend. That’s why the guy is not being sought for the murder.
Whoa! Wow.
You forgot to add the now-obligatory, “But who are we to judge?”
Mom meets this guy online and they move in together by October? The other family members are concerned how this guy reacts to this little girl and they report it to child services? I pray for this little girl to be found safe. Her life thus far seems to be pretty messed up.
It could be a swerve to get the boyfriend to believe there is hope for him. No leads this AM. They could be anywhere at this point.
My sixth and eighth grade granddaughters live with us; this girl is right between them in age.
I don't see any of that in the picture... (Don't blame the child!)
Couldn’t find another article on her, wanted to update though...prayers have been answered, and this little girl has been found, ALIVE!!!!

The monster has been arrested. Continued prayers for little Brittany.
I saw that she was found. Now we must prayer that the damage caused by this has not totally ruined her life and that she many in time recover.
And that’s just what that is, a rumor. He wasn’t being sought for the murder because they didn’t know if he’d done it but they were pretty sure the daughter was with him. Or if she wasn’t, that he’d know where she was or what had happened to her. So the only thing they could ‘seek’ him on was that he might have a missing 12 year old girl with him. He may not have originally been sought for the murder but I’ll betcha he is charged with it now that they have arrested him.
And he should be shot anyway for having a relationship with a 12 year old. Even if she does wear eyeliner and lipstick in a photo.
