Thank God her support of her worthless husband failed.
My whole family has had one form of Cancer had a sister that died when she was 17 yrs old of cancer of the brain and my dad died when he was 74 from lung cancer, and never smoked a day in his life....my brother died with colon cancer..and then my mom died of colon cancer..I had breast cancer about seven years ago it was caught in the early stages..(that is what a mammogram will do for you..)I have been cancer free for seven years..I praise God every day for my recovery..
Very sad for her family to lose her during the Christmas season. I hope John feels like the scum he is.
Rest in peace, Elizabeth, and prayers for your loved ones.
Prayers for her family. She was too young to die.....
I will pray for your husband to get well.
God bless you both.
May she Rest in Peace.
RIP Mrs Edwards.
Prayers for them all. I am so sorry for her children. I lost my mother last Jan to breast cancer. Losing my mother as an adult was extremely devastating, I can’t imagine what it would be like for a child.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wade Edwards Foundation which benefits the Wade Edwards Learning Lab at www.wade.org.
Before her death, Edwards posted the following message to friends on her Facebook page:
You all know that I have been sustained throughout my life by three saving graces my family, my friends, and a faith in the power of resilience and hope. These graces have carried me through difficult times and they have brought more joy to the good times than I ever could have imagined. The days of our lives, for all of us, are numbered. We know that. And, yes, there are certainly times when we aren’t able to muster as much strength and patience as we would like. It’s called being human. But I have found that in the simple act of living with hope, and in the daily effort to have a positive impact in the world, the days I do have are made all the more meaningful and precious. And for that I am grateful. It isnt possible to put into words the love and gratitude I feel to everyone who has and continues to support and inspire me every day. To you I simply say: you know.
And while Elizabeth Edwards remained optimistic, she also “prepared for the worst.”
She wrote letters to her three children, giving them advice on things like “how to pick the person they’ll marry” and how to “pick a church.”
As she told People magazine, “it’s got all that butting my nose into their lives long after I’m gone stuff.”

She is in my prayers as are her poor children. May the Lord give them strength to pull through this!
How very sad for her children. May she rest in peace.
I hope she’s with her son Wade now....or very soon.
Cancer doesn’t care whether you’re liberal or conservative.
We’re all together on this one.
Can’t help but to wonder whether this was ‘assisted suicide’. Announcement one day, and dead the next. Interesting timing to say the least. If so, I can’t say that I blame her.
I don’t know what I would do if I were to find myself in such a situation. One thing I DO know, is I wouldn’t just lay there and suffer.
Foxnews on the radio kept reporting Elizabeth as the “estranged” wife of John Edwards. Shouldn’t that have been the other way around. Then, he is just strange. I am sorry that her young children won’t have their Mom- what a tragedy. Women - get your Mammograms. Elizabeth admitted she let four years go by without one.
[ Very sad. Condolences to the Edwards family. ]
And the Anania Family
Prayers for you both, for peace, health, and wisdom.
Just confirmed through several sources.
God bless Elizabeth Edwards, her children and all those who loved her.
