AFTER nearly two weeks of snow and sub zero temperatures rivaling those of Siberia, the old joke about global warming being a good thing has had a new lease of life. So what has happened to doom-laden predictions of the world heating up as glaciers melt? Mike Kelly reports.
FIRST the good news. These bitter winters aren’t going to last forever. The bad news is that they will go on for the next 30 years as we have entered a mini ice age.
So says author Gavin Cooke in his book Frozen Britain. He began writing it in 2008 and it was published last year when experts were scratching their heads at the cause of the bitter winter of 2009/10 which brought England to a standstill. Some said it was a one-off event, with experts predicting snowfall becoming increasingly rare.
Now, 12 months on, the current sub zero spell makes last year look just a bit chilly. Just like kids enjoying ‘snow days’ off school, Gavin ought to be delighted with the cold snap. After all, he can justifiably say ‘I told you so’. But he’s as glum as the rest of us.
“I’m getting sick of it myself,” he said.
When Gavin, 48, of Monkseaton, North Tyneside, began writing the book the acclaimed documentary ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ by former US Vice President Al Gore about global warming, was still fresh in the memory.
It detailed how carbon emissions were contributing towards the melting of the polar ice caps causing the world to heat up.

OK, let’s say it’s true (and it very well could be) that we are in a brief cooling period.
God help our children and grandchildren when we begin to come out of it and the very same interests start shrieking about AGW, and they have genuine warming data to ‘prove’ it. It won’t be AGW, but they’ll be sanctimonious climate harpies for sure.
The alarmists are like the blind Indian men examining an elephant,one said it was like a tree after feeling the leg,another said it was like a snake after feeling the trunk, another .....

On a similar note, I am really, really sick and tired of any weather that is not “normal” being the fore shadowing of some cataclysmic climatic shift.
It’s weather, and if the climate does change, we can’t do anything but adapt or die.
The premise of global climate change is that the earth’s temperatures have been going up/down over the past 150 years because of man’s move to industrialization (and decades of now dormant atomic bomb testing).
They cannot predict whether those temperatures are going radically UPWARDS or DOWNWARDS, but which ever way they are going, it “absolutely” is man’s fault.
The conclusion that they reach is (A) not only do we not know which way man is sending temperatures, but (B) man MUST make changes to the climate to counteract all of his eco-sins. Sort of like a back seat driver telling you that you are headed the wrong way but won’t tell you if you need to be heading North, South, East, or West. Just “whatever course you are on is WRONG and you have to DO SOMETHING!”. Not so if you are merely in a parking lot.
The demands of Gaia cult are too draconian with too much Marxist redistribution to third world dictatorships (with ample skimming by Pope Al Gore and his connected interests).
Try them for their criminal conspiracy and make all nations of this world PRODUCTIVE instead of wasting resources, energy, and finances on BULLSTALIN.

Warming or cooling, it's a catastrophe, it's caused by the West, and the answer is more government intrusion into our lives.
Yes, to wrap up my post above, not only do they say that the earth’s temperature is “wrong”, they seem to believe that there is ONE optimal climate for everyone in the world although some are going to be warmer than others and some are going to be colder.
Day going to night and seasonal changes are very basic examples of “climate change” that occur over regular periodicity.
But some educrat thinks (s)he knows what the global thermostat SHOULD be set at (as if man can even change it).
The micro climate around urban areas is definitely subject to impact by humans and our love of concrete, asphalt, and air conditioning (heat exchange) in the summer time, but the planetary climate? The idea that we, who amount to less than a thin dusting of bacteria on a basketball, can affect a climate powered by a star one million times the mass of our home world should be ludicrous to anyone other than a raving imbecile like Albert Gore, Jr.
They believe that a butterfly in asia affects the desert winds in the Sahara.
They likewise would have to conjecture that a moth darting in front of a candle can cause the candle to grow brighter.
Maybe the Climate Alarmists will finally stop blithering for awhile!
According to Scientists at the University of Colorado, Gulf loop current and Gulf Stream (which warms North America and Europe) has stopped functioning because of the BP Oil Spill resulting in a coming Ice Age.

Its going to keep getting cooler, but to call it an ice age is silly.
The cause of the ice age was the extreme warm oceans remaining immediately after the flood, which resulted in continuous heavy precipitation and those conditions will never occur again.

There is another study saying that the BP oil spill broke the loop current that warms the Atlantic.
These climate truthers just can’t settle on which calamity is worse.
Throw a few UofC scientists into the Gulf to appease Gaia.
