Huckabee on 2012: Let’s face it, no one’s better positioned to challenge Obama than I am

I knew you guys hated him, but not until I saw the results of this weekend’s Hot Air mega-poll did I realize how much. Out of 17 presidential candidates named, he finished … 15th, just eight votes ahead of Rick Santorum and 10 votes ahead of, er, Donald Trump. Palin won the poll with 1181 votes and Chris Christie came second with 745. Huckabee’s total take: 32. Dude?

The word on the primaries lately from everyone from Palin to Rove is that competition is wunderbar, that the more candidates we have battling for the nomination, the better served voters are by having more options, etc. Just wondering: Does that logic apply to Huck too? Think carefully before you answer, because if there’s anyone who’s poised to hurt Palin by peeling off social cons, blue-collar voters, and women (yes, really), it’s him.

Let's face it, Huck; you're a lying phony. You wear your Christianity like a wolf wears a sheepskin jacket and UGGS.

When your 19-year-old son found a stray dog, tortured it for hours, and then decided to hang it from a tree to kill it, your response as Governor was not horror, and hoping he pays for his crime. Nope, you attempted with all your might to protect him from justice.

You had weight loss surgery, which was a great thing to do for your health, and then wrote an entire book about how you lost weight through only exercise and diet. 1. Why would you lie about something that was not shameful? 2. Why extend your lie into a published book about how great you are?

You love illegal aliens and would vote for amnesty.

You believed in "clemency" for any prisoner who claimed a religious epiphany in jail, and let hundreds of dangerous felons out of prison only to murder and rape again. Four cops eating at a restaurant in Washington lost their lives on one sad day because you let their murderer roam free.

You even lied about a stupid Christmas commercial where the director had the shelf behind you illuminated into a lovely cross shape. It was obviously on purpose, and there was nothing wrong with a cross in a Christmas message, but you mocked everyone thinking so with your "People! It's JUST a bookshelf!" denials.

You lie where there is no need to lie. That is a very dangerous trait. You seem psychologically needy, and those are our worst leaders. Look at the current President.

Stay home and pop another squirrel in the popper. We do NOT need your kind on our side.

Research Huck’s lies. No one who read up on Huckster could cast a vote for this man. Do NOT be fooled by his “Christianity.”

He ought to have been out trying to stop Obama. If he understood that this is about stopping the Obama gang, and saving the constitution, he would have been in the fight already.

because Huckabee is one of those people who is seeking mass adoration like Obama. Huck wants to be President MORE than he cares about this country.

If Palin is Sean Hannity, then Huckabee is Michael Medved.

If Palin is Sean Hannity, Huck is Rachel Madcow.

Good looking dog, though.

But look what they are doing to keep that poor dog in the photo?!! This when the older son had been arrested for torturing and killing an innocent pooch! Was the god supposed to represent how great they are with animals? Because it looks like they are all but choking him (much as the son did when he hung his dog)!

I don't want a President who is so cruel to animals that he would attempt to get a dog torturer off charges.

As someone who publicly (including on FR) supported Mike Huckabee during the 2008 primary, I’ve been versed (some might say flamed) by all the others in the anti-Huckabee information.

Stranger to me is the extent of the pro-Palin attitudes so omnipresent on FR.

The tendency to so completely ignore Palin’s negatives, while focusing solely on everyone else’s, borders on the blind-faith so present in Obama supporters.

Why does Huckabee scare you so much?

Anyone who uses something "magic" and non-applicable to fool voters into voting him into office (religion, skin color) is scary. Look how we got Obama as our President!

Also, why does Huckabee lie so much? Why is he so slick? It's because he is desperate for something for himself. Truth is not a virtue in his eyes. The only virtue in his eyes is getting some kind of adoration for himself (possibly to make up for an unhappy childhood?). He will do ANYTHING to get that attention. This is a POOR quality in a leader.

It's DAMN scary to have a psychologically needy President, isn't it?

Not arguing for Palin on this thread. I am only arguing against a lying, needy phony.

Just as a "magic" and non-applicable trait like blackness got Obama into the White House, Huckabee wears his Christianity on his sleeve to fool a lot of people into thinking he's "one of them" as well. It's "magic" how well this trick fools people.

As a side, I said using your own words it makes you sound as a liberal, and only you can determine that, not me..

Since I don't listen to Hannity on radio or TV, your examples don't mean anything to me personally. Tho it may to you in making your point....

Could you give me an example of your comment***In other words, she may know the correct answer, but does she know—and can she effectively communicate—EXACTLY WHY it’s the correct answer. (this makes little sense to me to say she communicates the correct answer and may not effectively communicate why it is the correct answer)

Does any politician do that to your satisfaction...and could you give me an answer so I could understand the point you are making....I am trying to truly understand what you mean.

For me, I listen to what comes out of a politicians mouth consistently, I look at how they live their lives, I get a *gut* feeling that someone is being dis ingenious, for example Kerry, Edwards Gore...their lives and mouths don't agree. I judge them phonies...I look at past legislation they have supported, I look at what they did not support, I determine if what they say supports what they do...

That is how I judge a political person...I am not so naive as to have to have them explain any farther....Those judgment on a persons ability are mine to make...Do they believe in family, are they anti abortion, do they believe in protecting our borders, are they respectful of our military and do they have the ability to laugh at themselves. Are they honest in their beliefs....

Is what comes out of their mouth what they live up to in their lives..I think this gives you a clear idea of what I look for.

I still don't know what your looking for as you only make 1 statement....***In other words, she may know the correct answer, but does she know—and can she effectively communicate—EXACTLY WHY it’s the correct answer***

Perhaps the fault lays in me, but I still don't understand what you are looking for and who has the qualifications you are looking for in a candidate..and how those differ from other candidates or from Palin..

Hope I have not been too confusing in what I say. For me someone can state what they believe is correct (ex. Gore and global warming) He tells us why it is a fact and uses false science that sounds good, but he is still lying through his teeth even with his explanations.. His mouth and his life don't agree with each other even though he gives us the why of his belief.... GG
