Funny, ESPN rates him as 1 of the best quarterbacks of his era.
So he has to share the stage with Aikman and Staubach, thats a pretty tough crowd to compare him to, and then say he wasn't the best.
That would be like implying Kobe Bryant is a lousy basketball player pbecause he's not as good as Michael Jordan.

Jerry Jones better have a real nice tribute for Don at their next game. The Cowboys wouldn’t be nearly worth as much as they are had it not been for Meredith, they’d be just another NFL Franchise.

The game was a lot tougher for QB's when Meredith played.
The rules during Meredith's era were a lot stricter for offensive holding and a lot more liberal for defensive pass interference. And QB'a weren't protected by the officials in the '60's like they are today. Plus, the quarterbacks called their own plays back when Meredith played.

Sorry to put a bee in your bonnet mount man. Maybe I just didn't watch that much football during the Meredith years. I did follow them closely during the Staubach years though. Started losing interest in the Cowboys when Jerry Jones took over.
