Delaware Republican Christine ODonnell criticized the national GOP for not spending money on her campaign, but the long-shot Senate nominee was sitting on a mountain of cash.
ODonnell reported having $924,800 in the bank after the election was over, according to her post-general election campaign fundraising report, filed Thursday.

Yep.
Politico is moving on my credibility scale... they are now just behind ..the Daily KOokS, DUmmies Underbrained, and the Huffnpuff Post.
Wondering about these so called “FREEPERS”.. seems like a bunch are either ANTI Conservative?? or are they just against WOMEN Conservatives??
yeah, i am pleased as hell there isn’t a Mike Castle in the Senate.
If the people of Delaware want to embrace the marxist Coons, then let ‘em. Conservatism will win in the end, and Mike Castle wasn’t conservative.
I am sorry if my bluntness offended. Really....I should know better.
But aren’t you sick of all of the garbage that comes out about politicians. Just once wouldn’t you like to have one be honest and do the right thing.
When I hear that she is sitting on a million dollars, and she can pretty much spend it as she wants, doesn’t that make you upset?
I am sorry, just end of the week frustrations I guess.
She doesn’t get to keep the money (not directly anyway)
I never liked Castle either but the fact is that all states are not the same. Some people here really don’t grasp that concept. The same person who might be able to take a seat in South Carolina and Tennessee might not be able to win in Delaware or New Hampshire. When the balance of power in the Senate is at stake you have to be a little less knee jerk and a little smarter if you want a chance in some states that are not conservative. The end goal was to get control of the Senate so that the real conservatives, there are not enough of them, have a better shot of making things happen than they would under Harry Reid. Sadly some people would rather piss away money and a chance at running the show just to spite a RINO.
But when did the money come in? If it came at the last minute that’s different than sitting on cash for months as did McCain.
Of course we’re not against conservatives or conservative women, but Christine was not electable as a person. If she had been a man— same thing. She just didn’t have it. Especially not for Delaware. It wasn’t her record or conservatism, it was all the stupid baggage and absurdity she brought with herself. She didn’t know what NOT to say, and that was the problem.
Yup.
And the only way to prove that point might be to lose with a conservative candidate from time to time. It's now proven that it's a price the conservatives are willing to pay.
I like O’Donnel.
Thanks for the idiotic little rant though.........
Also have to consider that radio and TV gets bought up the last couple of weeks and mailers take time to print, newspapers can have a lead time of up to a week or more.
We had this problem on the Miller-Meeks campaign here in Iowa - money to spend, few places to spend it. If it all came in at the last minute, there’s probably little she could do.
good attitude bro.
no wonder you couldnt even elect a dubie
Control of the Senate wasn’t in hand under any conditions this year.
It bothers me more that the Fascistic McCain/Feingold act has made it so that ONLY THE RICH can run for public office.
We need to eliminate that act, and punish those who voted for it.
Now you see what upsets me.
**it was all the stupid baggage and absurdity she brought with herself.**
bull...all that was the drivel from the MSM.. Knowing it was either BS or something from “college” or older, and people in these rooms RAN with it like it was GOSPEL.
it’s FREE REPUBLIC .. not FOR RINOS. Sounding like flipping Liberals in this room... at least they STAND with their OWN.
Yes, she saw the writing on the wall and with Rove and others and saved for another day. IMO not a bad idea.
Yeah. We should have gone for Castle because RINOs do not suck, right? I am glad he is not in.
Again with the short memories, people. Remember that money bomb that Christine O’Donnell held two weeks before the election - she raised over $1.5 million? Remember the snafu with the ad that could not be shown because there was no time available on Philadelphia stations and local station “forgot” to show, TWICE? C’mon now, criticize what should be (RINOs, LIBs, RATs, etc.); don’t eat our own.
If you have a thing against Conservative women, be honest and say so. Likewis, if you have a bias against ALL women. Be upfront with it, so we can judge beforehand whether to hit the mute button or not.
I only wish it were that cut and dried. Mitch McConnell is not terribly conservative, or at least has not been, and he's running the show for the Senate Republicans. Had he enough Castles behind him to be majority leader, he would not be leading a conservative charge on anything.
If you hit every ball you swing at, you aren't swinging at enough balls. While this might be a setback in DE this year, it's not an indictment of the Tea Party induced step toward conservative candidates. What it does do is encourage more acceptable yet conservative (and timid) candidates to step up next time knowing that they have a decent chance to win in the primary.
The fact that we got Castle out means something to McConnell, and he's talking a lot more conservative than he used to. McConnell knows that if he personally is to keep running anything, he needs to be in the Senate. And he now knows that just being labeled 'Republican' might not be enough to stay there.
