Donkey Doozy - The Democratic Party spirals unidirectionally

Is it hyperbolic to say the Democratic Party is in the midst of a nervous breakdown?

I have been covering national politics since 1988, and I don't remember a situation quite like this. The signs of a crack-up are everywhere. Democrats still think they can somehow win a news cycle by demonizing John Boehner. Chuck Schumer goes on the Senate floor and suggests Democrats are getting the same political mileage out of "millionaires tax" that Republicans have gotten over the years from using "death tax."

Politico has a story with blind quotes from Hill Democrats who are furious that the White House isn't using some sort of mythical leverage over Republicans to extract concessions in exchange for extending all the Bush tax cuts -- including continuing to try to trade for DADT and the Dream Act (rather than things dealing with jobs).

Even Halperin understands how bad it is for the Dems, although he's clearly not happy about it.

Shouldn’t Halperin disclose that his father is employed by George Soros?

Funny reading this now, considering how just two short years ago we were reading everywhere about the ‘death of conservatism’, realignment, ect, ect, ect. In 2004 we were hearing about the death of democrats and liberalism, realignment, ect, ect, ect.....

A month ago the republicans one a historic Congressional election, and 0bama is on the ropes. Two years from now, republicans could take control of the Senate and win the presidency, with the right candidate (I have no idea who that is at this point). We are in very fluid political times.

Things are very much up in the air.

"We are in very fluid political times."

That's unquestionably true. I still haven't seen a thoroughly compelling reason or explanation why that is, but it is.

Perhaps the ubiquity of the internet has allowed the opposition (to whomever is in power) coalesce more easily and effectively.

You might be onto something there. Sure the 'sheeple'(we all know who they are), are more or less dumb and uninformed as always, but the political bases are more informed than ever, because they are 'plugged in' for the most part to the internet. Talk radio certainly helps as well. It will be very interesting to see how the next couple of elections play out.

All these articles are just political trash. These guys make their living writing the same stuff over and over. I remember when GWM won his wnd term. The MSM espcically Chrissy Matthews was all talking about how the Democrats needed to learn to not be the party aganist religion (you know quit making fun of middle country people) and he even said is the Democratic Party just going to be known as the party of abortion? It went on for quite awhile how the Democrats needed to learn how to understand and talk about faith etc. That idea did NOT sink in.

Let them continue their civil war. We need to be focused on getting quality conservative candidates to run for public office in the next election cycle.

That's unquestionably true. I still haven't seen a thoroughly compelling reason or explanation why that is, but it is.

May I submit an explanation?

It is because we, as a people, have oome to the conclusion that we have been ill-served by our government.

Over the past twenty-or-so years, our elected government has managed to:

1. Allow ten, twelve, twenty million illegal aliens into the country.

2. Screw up two wars.

3. Screw up the housing market.

4. Screw up the healthcare market.

5. Spend a gazillion dollars...

6. ...that we don't have.

7. Destroy the economy, along with millions of jobs.

8. Plus embarrass us with their behavior in front of foreign dignitaries.

The internet is one thing. It's helped us become aware of what's really going on -- without the propaganda of the state-run media.

But the SOBs who have been running the country are now on borrowed time. The tar and feathers they deserve are over the fire.

"Even Halperin understands}

I would not trust anything this guy says including "and" and "The" as Mary McCarthy said.

His father Morton Halperin is a lefty who was responsible for the death of our soldiers in Somalia when he worked to deny them armor support.
