One thing is for sure: if the gov't wanted to cover-up something, the relationship between the Obama Administration and the MSM couldn't make it easier. That's why I think we need to continue to bring these shadowy events into the light of day. Perhaps one day new facts will emerge.

If it was a non American launched missile, and we continue to pretend it didn’t happen, theey will do it again and with more lethality. If it was a contrail........Then it’ll stay quiet.

It won’t die!

Even Jane’s has said they messed up and it’s a plane. Stop the madness.

Wonder if it was North Korea? All there weapons are made from China, right?

There was this rumor earlier in the year:http://www.therightperspective.org/2010/05/02/did-north-korea-torpedo-oil-rig-in-us-gulf/

We had the North Korean attack of the South right after this mysterious contrail.

If the trail was a missile, it was headed for the US mainland. I wonder where it landed, and what the warhead is doing now?

Tick...tick...tick it’s out there somewhere, what is it doing?

If this was indeed a Chinese missile launch some 30 miles off the California coast, it would indicate the Chicoms don’t consider the 200-mile perimeter it claims for its coastal waters to apply to those of the United States.

The missile was launched from the same NOKO midget sub that destroyed the oil rig in the Gulf. Get the facts straight.

Well, I couldn’t tell much from the still photos, but I watched the video and read most of the reports.

It sure looked like a solid fuel booster to me. And since it came right up from the open ocean, miles from the nearest land, the likeliest source was a sub.

And since this is the kind of thing the Chinese navy has been doing in recent years, like that sub that surfaced in the middle of the fleet commanded by Admiral Mullen, my best guess is that the sub was Chinese.

Farah is not totally reliable. But I think he’s right on this one.

I have no idea whether it was a SLBM or something entirely different. A couple of observations though:

1. I’d be very surprised if the North Koreans have the capability to do this. I’d write that theory off.

2. The PLAN (Chinese Navy) does- but it makes zero sense for them to do so. If your potential opponent has an exploitable weakness like a relatively undefended coastline- it is glaring stupidity to point it out to him with a big, un-ignorable, dramatic display which will force them to take action to remedy it.

” Been thinking about this .. If it was a missile, the ChiComs and the Russians as well as France and Britain know about it, because they have similar assets to detect missile launches.
If it were launched by China or the US ,from the CA coast towards the NW as most seem to agree with , the Russians would have seen it as a threat and most prob. nuc’ed our asses.
If it were launched by Russia or the US, ChiComs would have seen it as a threat and nuc'ed our asses

I gotta go with Occam's razor on this one ...

Haven’t you heard?

It wasn’t a missile. It was a weather balloon.

Cloth remains and asian-looking crash test dummies were recovered 3500 miles downrange upwind due to freak conditions.

The article has some serious factual deficiencies.

"The question that still must be answered is why NORAD's muted response was simply that North America was not threatened…"
NORAD actually said:

“We can confirm that there is no threat to our nation, and from all indications this was not a launch by a foreign military."

"Indeed, the Federal Aviation Administration documents that there were no aircraft flying in the area at that time, the night of Nov. 8."
Like to see those documents, because the statement is false. At least one plane was in the area at that time.
