Not precisely complete, grandma.
Some liberal and unprincipled Republicans have been/are still/will continue to destroy not just us, but the entire Republic.
Has to do with money. He is a democrat already, that is why he has no democrat challengers.
We had a liberatarian oppose him once I think.
Seems nobody will take Lugar on. He is actually ripe to be booted. But we will need a good candidate.
With all due respect, are you from Indiana? The problem is NO ONE has ran against Lugar in the primaries for YEARS. And I do mean YEARS.
Its always Lugar vs. the Dem. NEVER Lugar vs. another R in the primary.
I’m so fed up with Lugar I actually voted for the Libertarian last time around, no choice since I had nobody running against Lugar in the primaries. A protest vote I know and Lugar easily walked back into the Senate.
But I’m with Indy....never again will I vote for Lugar. The man is the exact same thing as a Dem, he votes the same and walks the same and talks the same.
I agree, problem is the Indiana GOP refuses to run anyone against Lugar in the primaries. They actively work to defeat and defund any Lugar challengers.
Perhaps you can write a letter to the Indiana GOP. They aren't listening to me anymore. And believe me I've given them an earfull in e-mails, letters, and phone calls.
You are right. I actually didn’t vote for him last time. That was moot, I know.
If we could just get a great primary contender. Lugar is an entrenched RINO that probably gets a lot of democrat money to stay in office.
Yep. I was actually encouraged by this story. The Tea Party may be our best hope in kicking the arrogant RINO to the curb and back. I know if they manage to field someone I’m there. I’m going to help that campaign in any way that I can.
Why doesn’t that dried-up old a-hole just change his party affiliation and be done with it?
Stop the charade, Lugar.
Is there something in the Congressional water that makes people allergic to retirement?
“Might?”
Richard Lugar is a domestic enemy to Sovereign America.
The Indiana GOP cannot prevent anyone from running. There has to be at least one worthy candidate who will come forward to run. Forget the party apparatus. You don't need them.
Would any of your congressmen make good senatorial candidates? What about someone in the legislature? This can be done--it must be done. This is the way to take back our country incrementally but NEVER vote for a Democrat. It is far easier to keep them out of office in the first place than to try to have to get rid of them after they're in office.
Sure, Lugar stinks but a RAT would stink far more.
You got it!! Look at the primary process as a gift and with the successes of the Tea Party, there is no reason why there won’t be a worthy candidate come forward to take on Lugar in a primary. Go for it!!!! But NEVER vote for a Democrat!!
I've been saying that for years. And for years Lugar has been running unopposed. (Which is why he keeps getting returned to the Senate).
Lord willing, with much prayer and with fingers crossed, the Tea Party will spur someone to challenge him!
Ping!
Target Acquired!
I dont know about NEVER. Sometimes, the incombent RINO is so powerful, that you can not remove them via primary. Sometimes the only way to remove them is in the general election.
Now granted, voting the other side is a dangerous option because this creates an uphill battle for your guy next election cycle. But if the RINO is no different than the DEM .... might be a calculated risk.
Very rarely used, very scary last ditch surgery type option.
How about a recall?
Lugar needs to deliver the goods pretty soon on the medical products front. Obama and his running dog lackeys got special taxes levied against them. Lugar has to go along with whatever it takes to get rid of those taxes ~ it's like they were some sort of Illinois revenge thing. He also needs to make sure No Medical Malpractice Cap of nationwide application is passed. Indiana attracts the medical industry and vast numbers of doctors beyond their immediate local needs through the mechanism of having a reasonable cap and being surrounded by Lawyer's Guild states like Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and Ohio!
This is no joke with those guys ~ last time I looked the TOP 5 states in the medical industry were California, New York, Texas, Florida and Indiana (and Indiana has 1/5 to 1/6 the population of any one of the top 4.) This didn't happen by accident.
If anything Lugar is currently WEAK on the medical products tax and could probably lose his seat since he failed to protect an important state industry.
Well, how about a recall? I suggest you read up on how recalls are conducted and what kind of offices are affected. Then get back to us with the details on how that might be done with a United States Senate seat.
Lugar is very physically fit for an old man. He sponsors a walk and run every year. I believe he was expected to retire but changed his mind.
He is very arrogant and seems quite certain he will go unchallenged.
Lugar would be 86 or 87 when he completed his next term, should he get a next term. That's old.
I guess I'm indirectly advocating for term-limits. If he stands for reelection, he will have been holding his office for 36 years. 36 years is too long for anyone, of any party, to be in one office.
