The WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange, is tonight facing growing legal problems around the world, with the US announcing that it was investigating whether he had violated its espionage laws.
Assange's details were also added to Interpol's worldwide wanted list. Dated 30 November, the entry reads: "sex crimes" and says the warrant has been issued by the international public prosecution office in Gothenburg, Sweden. "If you have any information contact your national or local police." It reads: "Wanted: Assange, Julian Paul," and gives his birthplace as Townsville, Australia.
Friends said earlier that Assange was in a buoyant mood, however, despite the palpable fury emanating from Washington over the decision by WikiLeaks to start publishing more than a quarter of a million mainly classified US cables. He was said to be at a secret location somewhere outside London, along with fellow hackers and WikiLeaks enthusiasts.

And if he's not nailed by the Mossad, would it be a sign that he has pleased them?
The Jerk-in-Chief could`nt have cared less as long as military secrets and the names and locations of CIA agents were being disclosed. But now that his junta might be embarrassed, he`s suddenly concerned.

"Assange strongly denies any wrongdoing.
Mark Stephens, his London-based lawyer, has described the allegations as "false and without basis", adding that they amount to persecution as part of a cynical smear campaign.
Nonetheless, the Swedes appear determined to force Assange back to Sweden for questioning. .. "Julian Assange has never been charged by Swedish prosecutors. He is formally wanted as a witness," Stephens told...."
“But Assange’s most pressing headache is Sweden.”
Doesn’t he just wish that Sweden was his biggest headache. I think the Russians are a far bigger “headache” for this guy.

I agree. He might be able to make a plea bargain if he rats out BO for BO’s involvement in the WikiLeaks.
What gender is the alleged victim, I wonder?
Who gave Assange the data other than the military documents from Bradley Manning? How did he obtain private information about a bank and pharmaceutical companies?
Outside of traveling to and camping out on remote Wrangell Island, they are going to find this guy one way or another.
“I dont understand why most people here hate this guy.”
Partly it is because there is both good and bad about what he is doing. Depending on what he releases.
I personally have a tempered feeling about him. I see that he is doing some unjust harm, and I don’t like that. But I also see your argument which is also true much of the time, and it that regard he is doing a good thing.
Most people you have to understand are sheeple. They cannot weigh the good and the bad when it is being pounded in there ear that it is all bad. It was decided here by most to consider only the bad and to take this guy out without prejudice. Only those people can’t see they are empowering the all powerful big brother in the process. They are taking out there only chance to see through the veil of propaganda and protect there own freedom. And that is the power of sheepelism. One goes Bahhhh, and all the rest follow without thought.
What Wilkileaks really needed to do was to reform its policies so that it did not cross certain lines. That would have been a better debate to decide what those lines are instead of cutting off in full our only chance to see behind the curtain of Oz.
So welcome to “1984” or the “Brave New World”- or whatever you want to call it. In the end it is us who enabled it.
The system is only as strong as it’s weakest link. If one person has acess to 250,000 confidential items, something is wrong with the system.
There are between 1 and 3 million people who have access to this Confidential information. Are all of these people really necessary to have such clearance?
This case actually could serve to make changes for the better.....I am not holding my breath. It is far easier to issue an arrest warrant.
The govt never learns.....nor the sheeple who fall for this nonsense.
Perhaps the Russians will put the screws to him and film him ratting out BO. One can dream...
Actually, I wouldn't give a plugged nickel for this guy's life right now. I wonder if InTrade is taking positions on his live/die odds right now?
I doubt any of the unsavory shenanigans gleaned from the document dump represents significant news or intel to the involved nations.
Retaliation that affects innocent individuals and groups is my greatest concern.
The Russians don't extradite - they exterminate.
I would bet his days are numbered. No biggie.
Revel, you’re a fine writer, with very well thought out conclusions, but you really ought to nail down the differences between “there”, “they’re”, and “their”.

Amazing, eight months after the first dump, he's wanted on an interpol warrant for sex crimes. Eric the Holder is in Europe, forgot where, pitching the good old USA for the 2022 World Cup. Nothing else going on, I guess. Certainly nothing criminal.
Here’s my take and I don’t think this is far-fetched.
Soros is involved with Wikileaks Assange.
Note that Wiki is calling for Hillary to resign...hmmm, eliminate her for 2012 election?
No negative stuff released on Obama.
Obama dictator for life?
I said “hi!” to him at a 7-11 just the other day!
Anyone want to start a pool on when they think this guy goes room temp? I’ll start the festivities with a guess of April 3, 2011.
Good one, Ron.
Obviously, if a warrant by interpol has been issued.
