The Hill had to revise their initial posting because it was grossly in error.
Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Get the government completely OUT of healthcare!!
I was unaware there were any “popular parts” to the Obamacare bill. I was of the impression the whole damned thing was to be repealed, reversed, eliminated, assassinated, wiped out, creamed, desecrated, whatever out of existance.
Are the Republican’s dragging butt?
I wish I could call Rep Cantor on the phone about this. I don’t understand the strategy.
Seems to me nobama would veto any bill that modifies his precious deathcare bill (unless, of course, the proposal makes it even more onerous).
Likewise, nobama will likely veto any “Republican” health care bill submitted to him.
The Republicans do not have even close to a veto proof majority. So, how will they do this?
Looks to me like defunding will be much more efficient.
I think Cantor needs to be told: “This is Fargin’ War”!
No compromise. You won, now knock down THAT wall!
Rush probably nailed it - the R’s probably got ahold of some poll data that says most people like 26 year old freeloader kids living in their basements and mooching off their folks insurance...yeah sure they do!
No ecxclusion for pre-existing conditions? Then why not just wait and get the insurance after you KNOW you’re gonna need it?
“and a stipulation that allows young people to remain on their parents’ insurance plans until age 26.”
When I was 26 I was a police officer, a father of two and a husband for 8 years. WTF is wrong with young people today?
Try as I might, I fail to be able to put my finger on that part of the Constitution which provides them the right to implement even these “popular” (or is that populist) mandates.
“offering young people affordable care options”
...I just voted and volunteered for this yokel. This is completely unnacceptable and he knows it! I voted for COMPLETE repeal! Government gone from healthcare! Why is this happening?
Are you aware of what Cong Cantor is reported as having said on Matt Lauer’s show this morning? If true, it is disgusting! Check it out!
THese dumb-asses are only going to change the name from ObamaCare to RinoCare. Nothing good will come of it.
It’s “popular” to promise something for nothing to some people.
“Everyone will have good healthcare!”
“No one will be denied insurance!”
“And it’ll be FREE!”
Tell me that this isn’t what most sheeperals believe about 0bamacare.
Defund Obama’s entire Marxist agenda.
If there’s any bitching....start defunding the EPA, Dept. of Education....etc.
Let the commies aka Demoncrats and the State Run Media wail and cry like they always do.
You pu$$y Republicans either stop this Communist coup now or the people will have to do it later.
I called his office today and spoke to someone about the “pre-existing condition”. I told her was like waiting to buy car insurance until you had a wreck. Someone is suppose to call me back. We’ll see.
We have to save parts of it to kill it.....? Typical DC tortured political reasoning. Kinda like burning villages in Vietnam in order to save them. Of course, Obama will veto any major changes passed into law.
The only chance for any unity of purpose is complete repeal. As soon as they decide to do it piecemeal, they’ll never agree on which parts. It’s a formula for failure.
I still don’t like what I hear. Keep the popular parts and get rid of the unpopular parts is a recipe for bigger deficits and more onerous regulation of insurers—which ultimately will lead to less insurers. Cantor better be willing to make some unpopular decisions—like stopping Medicare cost increases. The Dem method of price controls won’t work but Cantor better have a workable conservative solution.
But companies shouldn't be forced to pay for insurance for 26 year old dependents.
