[history]
A group called the American Atheists has paid for a huge billboard on Route 495 outside the Lincoln Tunnel in North Bergen, N.J., that is raising some eyebrows.
The billboard shows a silhouette of the Three Wise Men approaching the Nativity, with the words: "You KNOW it's a Myth / This Season, Celebrate REASON!"

Again, Sons, Allah is Arabic for “The God”. Saying Allah is not Jehovah and referring to Allah as the god of Islam as if its a personal name makes you look foolish. There is no god named Allah. Allah is simply “The God” in Arabic. Why is this hard for you to understand?
Also the submission element exists in both Judaism and Christianity, and is not all about forcing others to comply.

Oh, and, we only have your word on the idea that Islam is a sort of Anti-Christianity, the exact opposite, do you have any real evidence?

I try to follow those simple rules (commandments) because I believe it's just the right way to carry on ones life, Holy spirit or not. Having him in my life gives me someone to lean on in times of trouble and someone to praise when life is wonderful. He's never too busy and . he's always there when I need him.

Saying Allah is not Jehovah and referring to Allah as the god of Islam as if its a personal name makes you look foolish. To whom?
Surah Ikhlas (Holy Qur'an 112:1-4) is:
Say: He is Allah, the One and Only! Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not nor is He begotten. And there is none like unto Him.
And of course the ever popular Shahadah...
"There is no god but Allah"
Again, you prove yourself a master of islamic obfuscation. Yes, Allah is Arabic for God. So what! It is what he is called in islam.
Give him another name, call him the "islamic god"...call him "Moon God"! However you paint this picture with your circular logic, the god of islam is not the Judeo/Christian God.
But in the end, when I use the name Allah in the Western World (which is the world in which this forum is based and the culture from which we are speaking), EVERYONE knows that the word "Allah" is a reference to one person...to one specific god. And that isn't Jehovah.

SODS-
You are now just trying to justify something. Yes it says n those English translations Allah, but no where does it say "The god Allah'. Even the Shahada doest say "There is no god but the god Allah", and its also translated "There is no god but The God".
The point I made was that Allah is not a personal name, but is simply Arabic for "The God", and acting as if you can contrast Allah to Jehovah as if Allah is the personal name of the Muslim god which is distinct from the one worshipped by Christians is linguistic foolishness.
Then there is this...
Again, you prove yourself a master of islamic obfuscation. Yes, Allah is Arabic for God. So what! It is what he is called in islam.
And in Christianity. And in Judaism. That is, if they speak Arabic.
Not all Muslims call "the Muslim god" Allah, and none call him their god Allah.
Many Western Muslims who speak English actually say "God", and in one of my English Translations of the Koran its God, not Allah. Allah is simply an untranslated Arabic expression.
By the away, how would I practice Islamic Obfuciation when I am not a Muslim? or is that Tyrkit and I'm lying abotu my Faith now?
Give him another name, call him the "islamic god"...call him "Moon God"! However you paint this picture with your circular logic, the god of islam is not the Judeo/Christian God.
The moon god Theory is discredited nonsense. Also, my Argument wasn't circular. My argument is that Islam is an Abrahamic Faith that grew out of an obvious Christian Cultural influence.
You haven't shown that to be wrong, or even addressed it.
But in the end, when I use the name Allah in the Western World (which is the world in which this forum is based and the culture from which we are speaking), EVERYONE knows that the word "Allah" is a reference to one person...to one specific god. And that isn't Jehovah.
Allah is not a name, though. And tehcniclaly Jehovah isn't either. Johovah was an attmeoted reconstruction of Gods Savred name, from the Tetranomenon.
Allah is Arabic for "The God".
And you still havent sown any reaosn to really counter what I said earlier.

Waiting for a response to post #125.
But I am curious why you are so defensive about islam. Why do you pick nits in worrying about the "name of Allah" when the point of the discussion isn't related to his name but to whether or not he is the same person as the Judeo/Christian God.
Let me ask you a question (just to help me understand who I am chatting with)...do you believe Allah and/or Jehovah to be a REAL persons, REAL Powers, REAL entities? Or are they mere abstractions such as literary, historical, or mythical constructs?

"A spokesman says the Catholic church's Newark Archdiocese declined an offer to buy a rival billboard. It says it has better ways to spend its money."Fortunately the Catholic League must have had a little discretionary money lying around and decided to counter the atheists with their own billboard. I guess Bill Donahue couldn't let the non believers get away with it.

Well I think that's a wonderful outlook. I am not hostile to religion in any way. Just doing some soul searching. Could be just a phase I'm going through.

It’s easy to blame God for your troubles. He never calls you on it.
May you find that *soul* you’ve been searching for. <);)
