Willie Nelson was arrested in Sierra Blanca, Texas on Friday for possession of six ounces of pot. As a result, the country music legend faces as many as two years behind bars.
If the Texas prosecutors do not reduce the charges, and the marijuana's weight is indeed six ounces, then he is dealing with felony and a potential minimum of 180 days in a county jail and a maximum of two years, with a $10,000 fine, explained former California-based prosecutor, Robin Sax.
**SNIP**
Nelson, 77, was arrested with one-and-a-half pounds of marijuana and three ounces of hallucinogenic mushrooms on his tour bus in 2006, and nine years before that, police in Waco, Texas spotted a joint in his cars ash tray, prompting another arrest.
Texas is more stringent than California so he could face time. One of the issues that the court and prosecutors will look at is his prior record and given the fact that he has several arrests, even recent ones, for pot related crimes," Sax said. "I would not be surprised if Texas decided to stick it to him."

Hells bells....we had a freaking rapist in the WH..for crying out loud!!!
What’s all over that road.....cocaine?
I *am* completely devoid of musical talent,as is Nelson. But unlike Nelson,I've never been arrested...have never used an illegal drug....and don't look like cockroaches have settled in various parts of my body and items of my clothing.
No New York Needles for Willy!
Excuse me? The guy has written some of the greatest songs of the 20th century.

It’s been rough and rocky travelin’,
But I’m finally standin’ upright on the ground.
After takin’ several readings,
I’m surprised to find my mind`s still fairly sound.
I guess Nashville was the roughest,
But I know I said the same about them all.
We received our education
In the cities of the nation, me and Paul.
Almost busted in Laredo,
But for reasons that I’d rather not disclose,
But if you’re stayin’ in a motel there and leave,
Just don’t leave nothin’ in your clothes.
And at the airport in Milwaukee,
They refused to let us board the plane at all,
They said we looked suspicious,
But I believe they like to pick on me and Paul.
I guess Nashville was the roughest,
But I know I said the same about them all.

I think I have every song Willie recorded, at least I have tried to collect them all. Me and Paul is a good one but most of them are good. I love Willie, I think I saw him at the airport once but I was too shy to go up and say hello. At age 77 I think his voice is not quite what it used to be, he is still out there singing. He was in Houston last year and I missed him. Darn it!
Johnny cleaned up years before he died. Why didn't you bother to know about that?
I am no fan of Willie Nelson’s, but that is a very strong charge. Do you have documentation?
Well played
Which places?
It’s worth nothing, imho.

She did own it. The man can write and interpret others works. Don’t like his politics and I’m not a huge fan, but I can admire his body of work. Over 2500 hundred songs written by or in part my him. Incredible.
That's not at all what happened. Looked like to me he was asking for this. Research the details for the truth of the matter.
