The Boeing Phantom Ray unmanned airborne system successfully completed low-speed taxi tests on Nov. 18 at Lambert International Airport in St. Louis.

“Phantom Ray did exactly what it was supposed to do,” said Craig Brown, Phantom Ray program manager for Boeing. “It communicated with the ground control station, received its orders and made its way down the runway multiple times, allowing us to assess its performance and monitor the advanced systems on board.”

The tests were the first for the Phantom Ray following its rollout ceremony in May. Boeing now will prepare Phantom Ray to travel to Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., on top of one of NASA’s modified Boeing 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft. At Edwards, Phantom Ray will undergo high-speed taxi tests before making its first flight. The flight-test program will last approximately six months

Just make sure that the computers on-board or that are directing data to the UCAV aren’t infected with something similar to Stuxnet.

I know -

That is quite an advanced design -

Taking a very long time to get it developed, tested, and into a useful combat role

Compared to the P-51 Mustang fighter in WWII - which was designed and tested and ready in record time

I’m thinking 0pansy is putting the brakes on military research and development and plans on moving budget bucks to his Socialist agenda projects to buy more votes

0pansy is also playing it to be nice to Muslims and has not intention of admitting we are in a war or that victory has no alternative -

I thought you or ‘we’ were on a thread not too long ago that had a newer craft that was not too unlike this one. I thought of this one when I saw the newer ones.

Judging by his agenda I'm have no doubt he is downgrading anything to do with the Military. I thought I just read of some cut he made just recently - I have a mind block.

Some days we hear two and three new astounding things he is doing, planning, or just did. I don't know if we can survive two more years of him with the Pubs going whimpy on us.

0pansy and Gates are for cutting the F22 and lots of other programs
They want it like early WWII when we were flying biplanes against much more modern and superior designed and performing aircraft

It’s just like the brasshats taking Spencer repeaters away from Custer’s troops and giving them long-range .45-70 single shot Springfields against a larger force that had repeaters that actually worked in combat situations

We all know how that turned out

[We all know how that turned out]

Sorry, but that hit my funny bone, lol.
Kinda reminds me of bad phone calls....!

I don’t always read news pertaining to planes, warships and guns, etc, so am not up on it.

Off topic - Texas is deciding whether to keep maintaining the Battleship Texas. Bet it costs a bundle and it’s a WWII relic. I’ve been on it and it’s always sad to see things like that lost over time

The “Texas” would cost a certain amount to maintain - but as a ship that does not have to perform - Ships can provide a floating museum for exhibits, aircraft (as in NYC), and is great PR and recruiting tool

Some left-coast cities and states think they are a dangerous blight and do not even consider the benefits

During WWII those same cities and states loved the jobs and the protection -

Unfortunately the growing 0pansy problems since the 60s has put the USA in situations that IKE, Patton, and McArthur would never have believedc

The ME and now North Korea - 0pansy is seen as a silly little arrogant pompous jerk - An accurate accessment by the Chi-Coms and the Russkies and even Iran -

Better put a ton on ice on that 0pansy!
