Is he a terrorist or just a sick man?
That is the question police and federal authorities are still asking after the arrest last week of George Djura Jakubec, whose rented house in Escondido, Calif., contained what local authorities called the largest quantity of homemade explosives found in one location in the history of the United States.
Police entered the house after the arrest but later pulled back, citing the disarray and the amount of explosives, chemicals and other dangerous material scattered about the home. They returned again Thursday and, once again, decided the house was too dangerous to search.

He seems to have displayed some personal instability in recent years, and the article also mentioned two counts of bank robbery, so I assume he was probably more of a crackpot criminal than anything else. However, it’s possible that he would have been willing to sell these explosives to people with other motivations.
I wonder how he managed to obtain them?

George Djura Jakubec, a naturalized U.S. citizen.
Among the items found in his house ringed with security cameras are several kinds of acid, as well as hexamethylene triperoxide diamine (HMTD) and pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN), homemade grenades, blasting caps, firearms and 50 pounds of hexamine.
His estranged wife, reportedly a Russian emigre, said "He is crazy," she said tearfully as a sheriff's deputy escorted her to her car. "I think he lost his mind, he lost his mind or something."

Why can’t he be both?

Heck with the caps, HMTD & PETN are what causes heartburn. Last time I checked, they were fresh out at Wally Whirl and other friendly border convenience shops.

Bottom line that the MSM is ignoring is that he was a Muslim.
Prays all day long to kill Americans.
Plans on how to kill as many as possible, at the mall, at a school, maybe a theme park, sporting event or any holiday celebration.
To kill, to kill as many as possible, to die in the name of killing those that do not worship Allah.

Is Hexamine a realistic explosive ingredient? I used it as a fuel source for hiking, but I didn’t realize it could be explosive. Produces a lot of heat for a long time in a small package, though. I made the mistake of testing one full bar with my homemade camp stove setup in my kitchen once, and almost had to pull out a fire extinguisher, the flames were going so high.
