Irvine consultant Joe Vranich, who has been compiling a list of companies leaving California because of the state’s anti-business environment, is now up to 144 companies that have departed in 2010, including 34 in Orange County.
In addition, he lists 51 companies (8 from Orange County) that left in 2009. That three-fold increase, Vranich says, is the tip of the iceberg that is California’s financial woes.
“Quite clearly, the exodus of businesses out of California continues. It makes sense for companies to reduce their California footprint considering the ample supply of attractive, lower-cost alternative locations. Unless California reduces its hostility toward business, we will see more commercial enterprises seeking friendlier locations in which to relocate entirely or at least place facilities there that used to be located here.”

New York and Ohio are expected to lose TWO Congressmen each based on the 2010 Census...that’s a LOT of U-Hauls... :-)
The company I work for did this. It’s a small company though, only a few million/yr.
No need to be headquarted in California in the digital age.

My son had 3 corporations and 60 employees doing real estate in San Diego. The bottom dropped out in 2008. As a broker, his sole income was $395 per transaction for making sure all the paperwork was in order. That still amounted to almost $8,000 per month. When everything went to full stop, he lost his car and was having trouble making enough to even eat. I moved him to my 2nd house in Pocatello where he is doing much better.
Hang in. I'm prepared to drive to Omaha if my company decides to close up shop in CA. That's where the current customer is located. It's only 70 miles further away from my home than the current arrangement working out of Rancho San Diego.
A truss company opened in my burg just as everything hit the skids & it is standing vacant. Brand new construction. Employee parking, large lot/area for staging materials prior to manufacturing.

Sweden and Norway rejected it too. But they were thinking about joining.
There is no way they will join it now.
The big problem with this calipornia exodus is they take their liberalism with them and impose their views on the good conservative communities they move to.
When their numbers are great enough, you end up with a mini-Calipornia.
I live in a mid size town in North Mississippi and it is thriving. In fact, a company from Silicon Valley is coming here as I write this. Other companies are also being relocated here.
There are many places left in America where the people remember they are Americans.
And, that my friends is the definition of insanity - doing the same things over and over and expecting a different outcome. As Mark Levin says, these people are like locusts. They munch and destroy one state, then move to another until that state has been destroyed - never understanding that their liberalism is the problem.
And, they have the audacity to call conservatives stupid?
Yep, its like those who chow down a Big Mac meal and then order a diet coke. Same principle!

New York State and Pennsylvania should donate New York City and Philadelphia (aka West Camden) to New Jersey.
All three states would be improved.
